I feel very fortunate to have been referred to Ms Shrotria, My GP actually recommended that even if I had to wait a week or two she was the best person to see and I’m so glad I did that. Ms Shrotria was extremely vigilent on ensuring we had swift access to of the right tests and specialists to get all the information needed to quickly and confidently ensure the right diagnosis, treatment and care. She’s very well connected and respected by the teams she works with so you know you are in good hands. Her manner is wonderful in dealing with some very tense times and she always stays sensitive to this. She’s someone who is committed and truly passionate about what she does to that point I feel she’s an positive disruptive force in ensuring her patients get the right approach regardless of what’s the norm. You feel shes on your team in terms of empathy, responsiveness and action. Ms Shrotria performed my surgery and I’m extremely happy with the care and kindness in the result and her on going care. I Recommend highly and my family and I are extremely grateful to Ms Shrotria for taking care of me.

I felt Miss Shrotria was always on the back foot with regard to my care. She didn’t have notes or results to hand and had to read through them in front of me to ‘catch up’. Worst of all, I went to get the results of the biopsy after a very anxious wait over the weekend and she had to call them in front of me to get them and then relayed them back to me whilst still on the phone to the lab!! No interpretation, no explanation given until we questioned her further. I then received a phone call after the event from her secretary who left a message on my home answerphone to say I had the all clear from cancer. Completely inappropriate. I don’t trust her admin and organisation and I wouldn’t trust her to do the op I now need.

Response from Miss Sunita Shrotria

Hi Thank you for the feedback. I would firstly like you know that we are now paperless and so we do not carry notes any more. In the digital world we now have all the information online so no more bulky notes! I do therefore read aloud from the screen to confirm that I have the correct information on the system and that I am dealing with the right patient to avoid mix-up with names etc. I gave you the results that I obtained on the phone as they had not yet been received in my office. I agree I may have passed this information to you immediately as I don't like to withhold good news even for a minute. I was just as happy as you to receive the confirmation that your lesion was benign ie non cancerous. I am sorry if I did not explain the findings fully. You rightly asked for more information which I hope I provided. For benign lesions you should not need an operation but if you are having one for this or another reason then I sincerely wish you well. Regards Sunita Shrotria
