I felt Miss Shrotria was always on the back foot with regard to my care. She didn’t have notes or results to hand and had to read through them in front of me to ‘catch up’. Worst of all, I went to get the results of the biopsy after a very anxious wait over the weekend and she had to call them in front of me to get them and then relayed them back to me whilst still on the phone to the lab!! No interpretation, no explanation given until we questioned her further. I then received a phone call after the event from her secretary who left a message on my home answerphone to say I had the all clear from cancer. Completely inappropriate. I don’t trust her admin and organisation and I wouldn’t trust her to do the op I now need.

Response from Miss Sunita Shrotria

Hi Thank you for the feedback. I would firstly like you know that we are now paperless and so we do not carry notes any more. In the digital world we now have all the information online so no more bulky notes! I do therefore read aloud from the screen to confirm that I have the correct information on the system and that I am dealing with the right patient to avoid mix-up with names etc. I gave you the results that I obtained on the phone as they had not yet been received in my office. I agree I may have passed this information to you immediately as I don't like to withhold good news even for a minute. I was just as happy as you to receive the confirmation that your lesion was benign ie non cancerous. I am sorry if I did not explain the findings fully. You rightly asked for more information which I hope I provided. For benign lesions you should not need an operation but if you are having one for this or another reason then I sincerely wish you well. Regards Sunita Shrotria
