Reviews
Richard Freeman is a brilliant surgeon. He has an understanding and engaging manner with patients and possesses a dry sense of humour. He also the gift of exposition which he uses to great effect when explaining the nature of injuries, their causes and timescales for recovery.
I had complete confidence in him and would recommend him without reservation for any orthopaedic surgery.
Mr Freeman operated on my foot in January and it has been a total success for me. My target walking distances over the successive months after surgery have all been met and I'm really happy with the outcome. This is especially good as it was a repeat of a similar operation performed by another surgeon at another location some time ago.
He has taken care to listen to my (few) concerns, taken them all seriously and given me sound advice.
All in all I'm really happy with the treatment and post-operative reviews and advice given to me by Mr Freeman.
Mr Freeman was easy to talk to, he quickly understood the problem and gave a very clear explanation of the courses of action open to me. He was able to advise on the likelihood of success for each option and the approximate timescales for recovery. Consequently I was able to make an informed decision in relation to my treatment and rehabilitation.
On the day of my operation Mr Freeman came to see me and explained what was going to happen. Everything went according to plan and I was discharged later that day. The operations appear to have been a success, and although I needed a further small procedure (which I had already been advised was a possibility) within a few days became pain free and have continued to improve since.
I have just come away from a second post operative review meeting with Mr Richard Freeman, approximately four months after my keyhole ankle op to repair and tighten a lateral ligament, remove bone spurs and repair cartlidge. All a legacy of previous serious sporting injuries.
Whilst I have not yet retuned to squash or road running, I have resumed cycling and am now walking without any discomfort, having played my first 18 holes of golf carrying my bag last week.
I would not hesitate to recommend both Mr Freeman (and the Nuffield in Haywards Heath) for problems with the foot or ankle. He exudes knowledge and confidence, tells you as it is and has an obvious caring but passionate approach to “fixing people”.
Thank you.
When I had my feet operated on by Mr Richard Freeman I found him to be very approachable and he listened to what I wanted and then advised me on the best course of action advise which turned out to be excellent and everything worked out very well.
Everything from the consultation, operation and post operation consultation was excellent I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Richard anyone requiring his medical skills.
