Mr Harley was personable, he listened to my requirements and reasons for wanting the procedure. He explained the procedure clearly and in depth, and answered questions in language which was easy to understand and I was confident that the results would meet my needs. Mr Harley also provided documented information about the procedure which was great to reference and also before and after pictures which gave me an indication as to results and also the different stages of recover. I would recommend Mr Harley.

To be honest I was very nervous when I met this doctor but he very soon put me at rest with his gentle manner and easy talk. He did many tests on my hands and found that not only did I have Osteo-Arthritis but Carpel Tunnel. I was given all the information about what he could do for me and he explained in great detail the process that would be needed given that I also suffered from COPD. He has already undertaken the Carpel Tunnel operations with just a local anaesthetic and I am progressing well with more use of my hands. I am due to see him again in March 2022 where he will see how I am progressing and decide if I do still need the final operations in both hands for the removal of the Trapezium bones. I have no hesitation in recommending this doctor for the way he has looked after me not only before the first operation but during the two already and potentially the final two.

I am delighted with my surgery results. I had thought about surgery for many years before finally having it done. I never would have expected the results to be as good as they are. Prior to the surgery, I had been quite specific with Oliver Harley on precisely what I wanted to achieve and had insisted on the shape I preferred which is to keep the hips or love handles there. That has worked for me. The neatness of the scar and the contours of how the stomach has been shaped and the care he took to make the skin look as healthy as possible is deserving of a gold star. I think women should feel free to look as best they can. All being well, I will feel a lot more self-confident in the future. That is the hope. I was surprised by how vulnerable I felt after surgery - it is a shock to not be able to move properly, to be in constant pain and need assistance with getting out of bed. Fortunately my family took great care of me at home and the staff at the McIndoe centre could not have been more pleasant or professional. I've had several trips into the hospital to have fluid drained and now four weeks on I am feeling right as rain and nearly back to normal. I would recommend Oliver Harley and his great team - the anaesthetist and other surgeons. I was very well looked after. This result could never have been achieved by diet and exercise and now at the very least I can be healthy moving forwards.

I had carpel tunnel surgery on my right wrist and a left Trapeziectomy. Both operations were totally successful. Mr Harley explained both operations clearly without using technical jargon. He and his team ensured I was comfortable and the after care was excellent. I am unable to think of any way the treatment I received could be improved.
