I had my left hip replaced by Mr Pearce at the Sussex Premier Health Hospital, Hastings, at the end of last November. I was so happy with the treatment I received while I was there; indeed I would find it impossible to fault him or any of his team. Without exception all the staff were friendly and helpful, the nurses particularly so, and reception, radiography and admin were also obliging and cooperative. My anaesthesia was the most successful I have ever had and I was upright and walking within a few hours of the operation. There was none of the lethargy that I experienced after the operation on my other hip. This is an unreserved recommendation for this hospital, this doctor and this team. I cannot thank them enough.

Mr Pearce listened to me and my worries about whether I needed it doing, as my pain had eased as my body got used to the movement.A bit of humour was involved when Andy Murray was mentioned. I felt very comfortable with him, and asked if he was doing the operation himself when he said yes I felt I had great confidence in him doing it.. He also paid attention to the fact that I already felt my faulty hip made my leg shorter before the op. , and said he would take that into consideration..

Mr. Pearce recommended that I had a full knee replacement. Up till then I'd had three cortisone injections to keep me going. He explained the operation and possible outcomes. In theatre the anesthetist, nursing staff, and he were jovially reassuring. They felt like a excellent team. All went well. I stayed three nights. At my six week follow up appointment I was walking independently. I enquired about having my left knee also replaced. Again Mr. Pearce explained in detail the options and possible outcomes.
