Great treatment, every effort made to explain the op, and very interesting watching it.Good after care via physio and follow up appointment with doctor.

Mr Harley came to the Reception area in person, called my name, shook my hand and apologised for the slight late running of my appointment. His manner was open and friendly, so I immediately felt at ease. In his office, Mr Harley explained every stage of the Consultation precisely and in 'everyday language'. I, therefore, had no difficulty in completing the paperwork. I understood why I was required to update him on the progress I had experienced, in the management of everyday tasks, involving my right hand, since the carpal tunnel operation. He asked me, in a polite fashion, if I would be prepared to give my views on my experience to date, of being his patient. I said that I would be pleased to help in this way, so I provided him with my E mail address. When he asked me if I had experienced any problems, since the operation, I mentioned some hard areas in my right palm. After examination, he explained that the hard patches could take some months to become smoother. He then asked me if felt ready to progress to the operation on my left hand. I felt confident to agree, as the treatment I had received at The McIndoe Centre, was outstanding. As I had both my thumbs xrayed on my previous visit to the Horder Centre, Seaford, Mr Harley put the xrays up on the screen and explained that I have arthritis in the left and right thumb. He said that he would be able to help alleviate some of the discomfort, should I wish to consult him in the future. He then asked me if there were any questions that I would like to ask, before he handed me my file, to take to the Reception Desk. I was able to say that he had explained everything to my satisfaction, so he said goodbye, and he hoped to see me soon. The whole experience was personal, friendly, competent and reassuring. As an NHS patient, I have received the best possible care. I hope sincerely that by sharing my views and experiences, that this level of care will be available to other patients. I can honestly say that I am 'looking forward' to receiving Mr Harley's high level of expertise and care, when I have the operation on my left hand. My only comment on how to improve would be to 'keep doing more of the same!' Thank you so much.
