Mr Rath is an excellent surgeon. I recently had a micro discectomy which was an emergency procedure. As a very risky procedure he was happy to answer any question I had but he also made sure to ask if I had anymore to ask even if they were ‘silly’. He is very reassuring and obviously very skilled at what he does. I think it must be very hard to bond with patients but Mr Rath tries really hard to put you at ease. If it was possible to pick surgeons for spinal surgery I would have no qualms in recommending Mr Rath.

I do not hesitate to recommend Mr Rath. I have found him to be extremely professional and felt both confident and comfortable speaking with him. He was very thorough in his examination and provided a high-quality service explaining the detail of my MRI scan in a clear understandable manner. He listened to my questions and answered them to diagnose and treat my back pain efficiently and effectively. Mr Rath offered advice to help manage my pain and a range of treatment options talking through the benefits and risks so that I was fully informed.
During his examination Mr Rath identified pain and tenderness in my right leg with swelling; a problem that was not related to my presenting spinal condition and advised me to get this checked out A&E that afternoon. We travelled back to Wales to visit our local hospital where I was diagnosed with a blood clot.
Thank you, Mr Rath, for your reassurance, your caring attitude but mostly your professional knowledge. Your advice was invaluable, clots can cause serious health problems and I am aware most fatalities come from a failure to properly diagnose the event rather than a failure to adequately treat it. Without you I would not have started treatment and goodness knows what may have happened! You are a credit to the NHS.

Don't remember if I had already written a review here for Mr Rath so thought was best to write another just incase! Felt like I was in safe hands with Mr Rath from the first appointment, 100% success with my surgery - coming up to 6 months post op now and feel like i have my life back with no pain whatsoever. Can't thank you enough Mr Rath!

On my first consultation with doctor Rath I was very impressed and felt immediately
at ease with his professional maner and warmth, he explained exactly what the surgery would entail which I found very reasuring
The surgery was a great success and the day following surgery I had no pain in my
