I had been suffering from recurring right ear pain and sore throat and after many months of waiting to see an ENT on a waiting list, I had had enough and went to see Mr Simmons on a private appointment. Mr Simmons listened to me properly, made notes of everything , and was able to clean my ears using the procedure of micro suction. It was quick and painless. He also answered any questions that I may have had and gave me tips for aftercare. I walked out of the hospital within 30 minutes, feeling like a different person. Would definitely recommend. Mr Simmons is a welcoming consultant. I wasn't very worried about my condition; my voice had started to crack (wrong age and sex for that to happen) but had been warned to get this checked. With a simple examination with a fibre optic tube, Mr Simmons assured me that my throat had nothing suspicious to be seen. Perhaps someone else may have indicated that I had wasted his time but this was not the case with Mr Simmons. We shook hands and beamed a goodbye to one another. PS nursing staff were all pleasant too.

I have been a patient of Mr Simmons for in excess of 10yrs during which time he first identified a Lyphoma cancer following a successful Tosilectomy and then arranged the appropriate swallow tests following my concern over problems swallowing food. During the years his support and reassurance has enabled me to face the difficult times positively and with good success. I have found Mark Simmons a most caring and professional specialist who has always listened to my worries and found a successful way forward. His liaison with cancer and lung specialists recently at Good Hope hospital has ensured the best way forward has always been taken to help ease my health problems during my latter years. I attended a consultation with Mark having suffered for many years with tonsillitis. On meeting him he immediately made me feel at ease with his friendly and open personality. Mark fully analysed all of my symptoms and diagnosed that a tonsillectomy was a consideration. Having explained the various options I decided to opt for the tonsillectomy. Mark explained, in great detail, what the operation entailed, the post operation recovery period and exactly what to expect. He arranged for my surgery within a week. Post op he contacted me personally, on several occasions, to enquire on how I was feeling. Everything that he explained would happen actually did, which provided me with the confidence that my recovery was under control. Two weeks later I had fully recovered from the operation and met Mark for my final appointment. Would recommend Mark without any hesitation, he felt like a family friend and was excellent in every way. Thank you Mark for all your care and attention.
