Unfortunately after my procedure I was unable to eat as i could not fully open my mouth and i should have been given sandwich for later -otherwise Spire staff were excellent .
Brilliant hospital! Lovely staff
I've not used private hospitals before. That being said everything was of a high standard. Clean, quiet and everything ran smoothly.
Great service and looked after very well both as a day patient and a overnight patient.
Everyone looked after me and were excellent with explaining what was happening.
I appreciated all the exceptional care I had been given .
Hospital was clean and well presented with great staff who are very attentive.
One issue I had was the anisthatist who carried out my care was not necesarily going to be covered by my insurer as was a stand in. These are all managed by spire however since i found this out about 15mins before surgery I had the choice of hoping my insurance would cover the cost or be forced to pay myself or walk away. I am unsure yet what the outcome will be but if I am to be expected to be pay for this I will certainly be pursuing Spire for reimbursement due to their error.
Other than that a lovely hospital and people but this isnt america you dont want to be hit with large bills due to hospital error.
I recently had the privilege of receiving care at the Spire Parkway Hospital and I cannot express enough how excellent the experience was. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and compassion by the hospital staff, creating a welcoming and comforting environment.
The level of care I received from the medical team was exceptional. Each member of the team, from the doctors to the nurses to the support staff, demonstrated a high level of expertise and professionalism.
The nurses were particularly outstanding, providing compassionate care throughout my stay. Their kindness and dedication made a significant difference in my overall experience.
The facilities at The Spire Parkway were also top-notch. The hospital was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with state-of-the-art technology. This created a safe and comfortable environment for both patients and staff.
Overall, my experience at the Spire Parkway was nothing short of excellent. The exceptional care, professionalism, and compassion demonstrated by the staff made a challenging time much more manageable.
I had an appointment on 6/01/24 with Mr Patel at 10:30 to assess for eye surgery. I arrived a little early and booked in. I was told to wait in the seating area which I did. Over quarter of an hour later no-one had called me to my appointment, so I informed the reception team that I was not prepared to wait any longer as I was paying a private consultation fee. I let the hospital and on return to home made a complaint to the hospital. They answered saying that the hospital had tried to phone me to cancel the appointment as Mr Patel was not available. This is totally rubbish as there are no missed calls from the hospital on my phone until 11:06 which was half an hour after my appointment. I any case if Mr Patel was not available why was I not informed of this by the reception staff when I booked in? Totally unprofessional in their service and incompetent complaint handling. I seriously don't recommend that anyone should trust this hospital for health care!
The communications prior to the operation were confusing.
The pre op meeting was rushed through on a saturday 3 days before due to 'it being a busy time'
After the operation.
Something to eat for the evening -after my morning operation - did not arrive. I asked if I had been forgotten and eventually at 21.00 hrs I was given a bowl of tinned soup - which had spilt all over the dish and plate (and a yoghurt).
Post op
I asked to go to Spire Sutton Coldfield to have stitches removed. This was also messed up with the times etc the surgeon turned up to see me, but I was told twice that he would not be there.
The nurse who tried to take eye stitches out was not experienced in taking "these type of stitches" out. She pulled at the lid without adding a little pressure to stop lid being pulled outwards. After breaking the stiches down to skin level and unable to catch the end of the stich, I asked them to stop and speak to the surgeon, who came in the next day and removed the stiches himself.
I was under the care of Dr Donald Adam and his team for a small procedure on my leg. From start to finish the care I received was outstanding and Dr Adam and his assistant were excellent, they put my mind at ease and made the whole process bearable.
I am a completely satisfied patient and would certainly recommend Dr Donald Adam and his team at Spire.
Absolutely excellent. Can’t fault the staff or the hospital. Nicky and Philomena (our nurses) were brilliant with my little boy, as were all the team.
