I had surgery in November 2022 and had care from 2 nurses, the first was great, an Irish gentleman who was really bubbly and spoke to me in a friendly and caring manner. I was kept updated about all aspects of my surgery. However, post surgery I had a different staff nurse looking after me, she refused to help me go to the bathroom despite the fact that I should have been supported due to the anaesthetic. She simply told me to get up and go myself then to pull the cord if I needed her. I was not spoken to in a professional manner and felt quite upset. The nurse was making errors when it came to my medication to take home and said that I had to return to the hospital after 3 days to pick up more medication but she was reading the dosage incorrectly. I was not helped to get dressed and then had to ask for a fit note. This seemed to be a lot of hassle for the nurse and when she did finally bring this after the second time of asking, it was not filled in correctly. My workplace refused to accept it and I had to request another fit note when I came for a post op check. I was kept waiting for 20 minutes in reception as nobody was picking up the phone on the nurses station yet when I was finally allowed to go upstairs, there were 2 members of staff sat there. It seems like once they have you booked in, the care standard is quite patchy and I was unlucky enough to have that particular staff member.

I recently underwent a procedure under general anaesthetic at the Spire Parkway Hospital, Solihull. Throughout my stay which included overnight I could not fault the care and treatment I received. All of the staff, nursing and otherwise, were friendly, professional and sympathetic to my needs. My room was clean and I had everything I required and the food was good.
No-one enjoys having to go into hospital but throughout my whole experience I felt relaxed and well cared for. I would not hesitate to recommend the Spire Parkway Hospital.

The care I received from the Spire is fantastic everybody are friendly and respectful, from the moment I walked in to reception for my first appointment and my whole journey was a great experience, my journey took me through reception consultations X-RAY, MRI, surgery, recovery and now following the physio route.
the hospital is very clean throughout and I was well cared for by everyone I came into contact with. There is a free patient wi-fi to connect to for browsing and emails.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, they made me feel comfortable at all times while I was there and informed me and kept me up to date with my procedure.
I would highly recommend.
