Dr Dessouky performed an Open Septorhinoplasty on me in May of this year (2018). It has almost been about 5 months now since the operation and my breathing through my nose has increase very very much. My left nostril was very blocked for most of my life so far and now I find I can breath in now naturally through my nostrils and I don't experience blocked nose continuously anymore. Dr Dessouky was very knowledgable, professional and friendly and the whole medical team and scheduling team at St Georges in the run up to the surgery, during the surgery, and after the surgery were fantastic. Thanks very much!

Mr Dessouky was the most patient specialist that I have ever seen, with a most wonderful, approachable manner. As part of my treatment, he prescribed Dymista nasal spray. Dymista has changed my life. I am a very active and fit 52 year old, but over the last couple of years I was finding breathing increasingly difficult. Lots of mucus and phlegm, huge sneezing fits, coughing fits, and what felt like restricted, narrowing airways. At prolonged, very high levels of physical activity when cycling, my body would shut down to recover, because I was struggling to take in enough oxygen to supply the debt. I also felt sick from the amount of snot and phlegm that I was generating, and struggled to consume food and liquids on the bike whilst riding. Previously prescribed nasal spray and tablets had no effect, and my performance time on a bike, having plateaued, was now beginning to drop. Dymista had an incredible effect. Within a matter of days, sneezing fits had stopped, and I began to feel that I could breath deeper and fuller and the oxygen was actually being absorbed. My airway felt less restricted and riding hard became a pleasurable experience again, as I felt that I could actually breathe properly. Phlegm and snot didn’t stop completely, but were dramatically reduced. Over the next few weeks my ride times started improving again, and I have progressively improved to the point where I have ridden hard over the summer in the UK and France, and recorded a sub 9 hour time on 2918 Etape du Tour. The constant irritation in my nose has gone completely, and from someone who has spent my whole life trying to manage Hayfever/Rhinitis/ allergies, Dymista has changed my life.

Ive wanted to write a review since the first evening we were home following my daughter's operation. She had sleep apnoea, caused by huge tonsils and adenoids, despite never having had an infection. Her breathing was incredibly noisy at night, and she woke hundreds of times. When seen by the paramedics, she was noted as having taken as few as 5 successful breaths a minute. No one was sleeping well. We were seen by Dr Dessouky, who arranged for the operation to happen, just a couple of weeks later. He also arranged for grommets to be fitted during the same op. She snored all the way home after the operation - but that was the last time we heard her breathing at night. She has slepts silently, and perfectly, every night since. She remained a mouth-breather for several months, but now, she breaths as well through her nose. Her speech, which was severely delayed, began, with the help of speech therapy, to improve rapidly which has allowed her to build relationships with other children, for which I am even more grateful. Thank you Dr Dessouky. It was a life-changing operation for both my daughter and me.

Overall I thought Mr. Dessouky was brilliant and very professional. My initial consult was with another doctor who resigned his post and moved to another country and so my Endoscopic sinus surgery and septoplasty procedure was done by Mr. Dessouky and the first time I had seen him was the day of the surgery which initially added to some of the nerves but he very quickly settled these and explained the procedure and answered my questions very well. The procedure itself went very well according to his feedback and he was very happy. The recovery also went fairly smoothly and was in barely any pain whatsoever after the surgery. In the follow-up appointment 2 months after the procedure, he was once again very professional and was once again very happy with where we are and provided me with a prescription for a nasal spray which I have just started using and hopefully I start to notice a big difference in my sinuses soon (although I have already noticed a bit of a difference, he did say it is a bit of a process). I will be having another follow up in about 6 months. I have been very impressed with not only the care I have received but also the professional service.

My name is Hewa Ahmed. After suffering from sinus problems for over 5 years, being seen by multiple doctors and having 2 surgeries which both were unsuccessful. Dr Osama performed surgery to help my sinus related conditions and so far it’s been 3 months and my quality of life has improved indescribably. From the first appointment, Dr Osama listened to me carefully and believed my word over what couldn’t be seen clearly on ct scans. Previous doctors due to not the clear ct scans, had refused to listen to me and immediately refused to perform surgery on me or even to investigate further the cause of my constant pain and discomfort. Dr Osama on the other hand had listened to me carefully and diagonosed me as a true specialist and he truly deserves his honourable title. Even during surgery he saw physically the cause of some of my problems were my partially deviated septum. Even though it was not the intended procedure he took it upon himself to correct my septum along with completing the planned surgery. I believe this has helped me a lot and I would like to thank him sincerely for all his work, patience and effort. I hope he is appreciated as an Doctor and he is recognised for his hard work. There is no other way for me to say this but he has saved my life.
