I was referred to Mr Pereira for 3 prolapsed cervical discs. Following an epidural, the pain was still significant and surgery appeared to be the next viable option. Mr Pereira explained that the procedure would be complicated given that 3 discs were involved and that there were risks involved in moving ahead with this. We agreed to further nerve conduction tests prior to rushing into a decision to operate and these turned out to be normal and that we should wait a further 6 weeks to see if the pain would subside and any improvements would be made. Miraculously, 6 weeks later I was in no pain and completely thankful that surgery was not needed (in the short term anyway). Mr Pereira's caution was much appreciated as I'm sure many surgeons would have gone ahead as was originally thought. He explained every detail with clarity and I felt completely reassured that he had my best interests at heart. I would thoroughly recommend his skills to any patient requiring neuro advice/treatment.

Mr Pereira is an exceptional man and has a genuine passion and keen interest within neurology. Finally, a surgeon who wants to help patients like myself who are suffering. Mr Pereira successfully performed a complex laminectomy and the results have been positive. The post surgical recovery was smooth and the scar has healed tremendously well. I know longer suffer with the excruciating back pain I was in before my surgery. I highly recommend Mr Pereira to anyone with neurological problems and I’m hopeful he can now devise a plan with him to assist my sever neurological pain management.

My operation was DBS for Parkinsons. With brain surgery it is natural to have concerns and one has to have trust in the surgeon. I have to say that from the very first meeting Mr Pereira came across as someone who really knew this procedure, describing the complete process with detail and authority. I raised several questions by email which were all answered, virtually instantly, covering all my queries with exactly the amount of detail to be appropriate. His very straightforward and authoritative manner was exactly what I was seeking for this specialised procedure. My confidence in him was not misplaced and the procedure, along with follow up care, was precisely as detailed to me. If you are considering DBS I cannot recommend Mr Pereira highly enough.

I was treated by Mr Pereira both at St Georges and The London Spine Clinic in May 2018 and my experience with him was exceptional throughout. Incredibly knowledgeable and clearly in demand, but he always took the time to explain what was happening, to understand how I was feeling and clearly set out a treatment plan. Thank you
