My operation was DBS for Parkinsons. With brain surgery it is natural to have concerns and one has to have trust in the surgeon. I have to say that from the very first meeting Mr Pereira came across as someone who really knew this procedure, describing the complete process with detail and authority. I raised several questions by email which were all answered, virtually instantly, covering all my queries with exactly the amount of detail to be appropriate. His very straightforward and authoritative manner was exactly what I was seeking for this specialised procedure. My confidence in him was not misplaced and the procedure, along with follow up care, was precisely as detailed to me. If you are considering DBS I cannot recommend Mr Pereira highly enough.
