I had a total hip replacement in May 2021. The operation and recovery went extremely well. The follow up consultations with Mr Mahli were very thorough. He explained everything in these post-op follow ups. Very impressed indeed with Mr Mahli

Had a total knee collapse of my temporary Right replacement knee. My local Hospital apparently didn’t have the expertise to carry remedial treatment & I was referred to Guy’s Hospital. Not being able to have it done locally made me very nervous as to what to expect with my on going treatment. However after meeting with Mr. Malhi & members of his team these concerns were very quickly dispelled. All aspects of consultation, treatments & subsequent operation were & was carried out so very well. After just six weeks all signs after my procedure are very good & I have have nothing but a heartfelt thanks to Mr. Malhi & his team. Thank you. Ian Streten.

Mr Malhi performed a total hip replacement on my right hip. Polite and quietly spoken - without ever being condescending - Mr Malhi ensured I was fully engaged in decision-making and confident at every stage of the proceedings. During the pre-operative consultation Mr Malhi listened to my questions, discussed my concerns and explained clearly the procedure he would undertake and materials he would use. Consequently, I entered the operating theatre calmly. The operation went smoothly, with the wound healing well. I immediately felt the difference. I was no longer in acute pain. I was able to stand upright and use crutches from the day after the operation. At the post-operative consultation Mr Malhi gave positive feedback that my recovery was on track which I found extremely reassuring moving forward. I can fully recommend Mr Malhi for his orthopaedic expertise and his consideration of me, the patient.

Mr Malfi gave fantastic care. He was extremely professional, kind, considerate and caring. My hip replacement has been very successful and I feel like a new person. The surgery and aftercare was a very good experience.

I am 74. I had two hip replacements, in January 2020 and June 2021, both by Mr Malhi, and both with excellent results. He is obviously a very good surgeon, and was always happy to discuss details or problems. The only comment I would make does not relate to Mr Malhi. The patient experience at Guy's was very much better than that at Blackheath Hospital, where I had the second operation. Being in a busy NHS ward, with others to talk to and a constant to and fro of carers, was so much preferable to being in a private room, having to ring for attention and with no-one to talk to. For example: when my urine bottle was full I rang for help, but it took ten minutes, by which time it was too late! I was asked to return the crutches I had paid for, as I had said I already had an NHS pair; I had to wait two hours, with no explanation, for the senior nurse to come and discharge me; and no-one enquired as to how I could arrange transport to get home. Nothing like that happened at Guy's, where the care was first-rate in every respect.
