I had treatment for breast cancer which included a mastectomy at Chase Farm hospital. It got rid of the cancer (fingers crossed) but left me with one size G breast and flat with puckering the other side. I was so lucky that the NHS was able to give me a reconstruction and a reduction after all my breast cancer treatment had finished. I was even luckier to have been in the fantastic hands of Mr Alex Woollard. My initial surgery to reconstruct my breast using my stomach fat and skin, was meant to be 7-8 hours. It ended up at 12 hours as my blood vessels kept collapsing. He didn't give up and 12 hours (with 3 attempts) later I was finally taken out of the operating theatre. Complications followed (I won't go into detail it's just one of those things with such radical surgery) but all along Mr Woollard was supportive, kind and I never felt that I wasn't in the best and most skilled of hands. His patient manner is extremely empathetic and he is always gentle and explains things thoroughly without being patronising. I am now - several surgeries later - the proud owner of a great pair of size C breasts which are really well balanced and it's no exaggeration to say that this has changed my life, both psychologically and physically. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am extremely grateful to have had Dr Woollard as my breast enlargement surgeon recently. I had surgery one month ago and could not be happier with the result. The outcome is everything I had hoped for and more. The process and care from initial consultation through to my recent post op check up has been excellent. Highly recommended!

Dr Woollard is an excellent plastic surgeon, incredibly knowledgeable in his field of practice and with extraordinary interpersonal skills, very empathic and inspiring lots of confidence. He has grown from being only my surgeon into a good friend. I met Dr. Woollard in the instance of breast cancer, so far the most difficult time in my life. I was so incredibly lucky to have him as one of the principal surgeons in my mastectomy and reconstruction surgery. I cannot forget the incredible sense of confidence he passed onto me the early morning of my 8h surgery to follow. After which he has looked after me with extreme care, commitment and dedication. I will be grateful for his no doubt extraordinary role in my recovery for the rest of my life. He is an excellent plastic surgeon! not only incredible knowledgeable, offering lots of confidence and empathy
