The care I received at The Lister Hospital was excellent. I was treated with respect and care by all staff at The Lister Hospital at all stages of the procedure, including at the pre-operation assessment and both prior to and after my operation. I felt that details of what would be happening/had happened were explained thoroughly and they made me feel at ease.

The Anaesthetist, and all the Nursing and the Support Staff at the Lister were all amazing!! Very caring and attentive, with nothing being too much trouble!

The nearest car park is not close enough and there was no parking available on site. The hospital staff were kind enough to let my car in to pick me up from the yard after the procedure.

I thought the care I received was excellent. I had hernia surgery and stayed in overnight. The surgery went well and the aftercare was excellent. The nurses looked after me well and responded extremely quickly if I called them. I was always treated with respect-unlike a few of my experiences in some NHS hospitals A very pleasant environment too and the food was quite good too.

The level of personal care was exemplary. Not because it was their job but because they genuinely cared about the people in their care. I want to give particular thanks to my nurses, but even more credit goes to the lovely Jamacan 'Clinical house keeper' that came into my room most days. She was so happy and 'nicely' chatty every day. She had such an impact and lifted my spirits after my op. On the last day, a Saturday, with the luxury of an empty floor I played Bob Marley (Loudly, but as I said no-one else was there!!!!) and she cleaned, danced and sang. I can not tell you how much of a difference she made just a week after surgery. I have seldom seen such a genuine, lovely person who even whilst doing her job showed such care and happiness. It was contageous!! I wish I could bottle what she had and take a sip regularly!!! I have seen her regularly on my return visits and she still has that beaming smile and at present a lovely green streak in her hair. If these reviews mean anything I challenge you to find her and thank her persoanlly on my behalf and nominate her for an employee award if you have such a scheme! Many Thanks Phil Banister

I was unimpressed by the preassessment procedure which seemed long and in parts pointless. Losing and or contaminating some of my bloods was not a good start. However my nurse was professional, available and reassuring. The hospital is clean and the staff and nurses friendly.
