Having spent a month trying to get something done for my 82 year old mother who was in terrible pain constantly, we took her to A&E at Redhill hospital last week and thanks to friendly helpful staff including a lovely registrar and consultant Mr Simon Monkhouse, we left having had a CT scan, blood tests and results all explained clearly to us. So although she will have to wait a while for an op, we at least aren’t assuming the worst and can get on with life now we know exactly what we are dealing with and knowing she is in the best hands possible. Many many thanks to all involved.

Simon Monkhouse is an incredible surgeon and an incredible person! He is clearly very talented, both professionally and personally. I had weight loss surgery with him this autumn and he has gone way above and beyond what anyone could expect from their surgeon. When I had the initial consultation, I was terrified! Simon explained the possible options for surgery clearly and precisely whilst outlining the possible risks. His manner was very respectful and compassionate leaving me feeling reassured and relieved that surgery was possible in my case. I have never once felt judged by Simon or any other member of the wonderful team (this was one of the things I was most nervous about). The whole team are exceptional (especially the lovely nurse, Sarah). There is also a tremendous aftercare package. Simon obviously cares greatly about his patients - I can't recommend him highly enough and feel very privileged to have been under his care.'

I can not tell you how pleased I am that I chose Simon Monkhouse as my bariatric surgeon. I had a gastric bypass in October 2018. Simon is the most dedicated, compassionate Surgeon I have met. He treated me as an individual, is non judgemental and puts you at ease from the moment you meet him. He takes time to ensure all his patients are supported on going through personal messages of support and guidance, patients Facebook page and a monthly support group. His patient care and approach is the Gold standard all Doctors and Surgeons should aspire to achieve.

Simon monkhouse has quite literally saved my life , I could not have carried on with things the way they were , I needed fixing and Simon did that. His compassion and understanding are beyond belief , his whole team are so knowledgable in this field and I truly feel that Simon is quite possibly one of the best bariatric surgeons this country has. Simon contacts his patients personnaly to check progress both pre and post op , I’ve never known that in other experiences. He gets involved with his patients and has set up an amazing group for us all to support each other. Other practitioners would do well to look at his style , it works , it’s successfull a truly amazing surgeon!!! Thankyou Simon
