The hospital is easy to get around, generally the staff are very helpful.
The only issues are the huge waiting times in A&E many many hours when feeling unwell or in pain and the lack of seating makes it difficult at times.
It would be really helpful to have somewhere to get a cup of tea or a snack whilst waiting as it is a long walk for this and if you don't want to lose your space and you are on your own you have to go without.
Just a suggestion, A&E is always a grim place to be so anything to make you feel more human and less stressed and worried would really help.

I was seen tonight in A&E for a burn on my hand, and I want to give my sincere thanks to David Barton and Joanna Dorosz. They were exceptional from the moment I arrived. Both took the time to talk with me, were genuinely engaging, and helped calm my nerves when I was feeling anxious. They explained everything clearly, carried out the treatment with real care, and did it all with sincere smiles and kindness. Their professionalism, warmth, and humanity made a stressful situation so much easier. Please pass on my heartfelt thanks to both David Barton and Joanna Dorosz they made a real difference to my experience.

I have had to make use of the NHS in recent years, and I find my local hospital superb. I have never had a negative experience, from the birth of my daughter, to using the A&E, to having a local procedure. The NHS can only deal with the tools it has and this hospital and the staff should be recognised for that.

All the staff at East Surrey Hospital are thorough, professional and courteous. It’s a very well organised hospital.
