I was getting intense pain, at regular intervals without warning at the back of my knee that left me unable to put my leg down and hardly able to move an inch for anything from 10mins to a couple of hours. I knew I had arthritis in the knee, but this was very different. It devastated my life, not knowing when it would hit. I am a total whimp, I hate pain, needles blood etc. However I could not live with this. I saw Mr Trikha , I was extremely nervous and basically "afraid". He was very factual, did not skip the bad news and said a knee replacement is almost certainly in my future. But he was also very reassuring. He said that Keyhole surgery to look at the "debris" and the "abnormality" seen in the scan of the knee might solve the current problem. But also, it may not work then its the replacement road. It was my decision. I came out of the Runnymede that day with an operation scheduled for early the following week. Amazingly, in one short session, I found I had complete confidence in him. I was not over worried about the op, and expected him to do a good job. He came to see me after I came round and explained his findings. It was refreshing and I went home with peace of mind. I may have been lucky, but I have not had any real pain even doing all the physiotherapy. It is two weeks since the op. I am walking without pain or support. I can now straighten my leg completely, and am much more mobile thanks to the operation. Physio is ensuring I don't lose that renewed flexibility. I like the way Mr Trikha dictates his letters whilst you are listening, so you can comment if anything is not understood. Seeing his confident in himself and his team really did take some of the fear away for me. I have already recommended him to others. I hope the devastating attacks don't happen again, but if they do or I do need a knee replacement I wont have any hesitation whatsoever in coming back to Mr Trikha. I must add my thanks to the entire team in the Runnymede who made my whole stay very comfortable and truly felt everyone was providing excellent care. JE

I had an ACL in my right knee which Paul operated on, the service was excellent and treatment he gave me was amazing. soon as I walked in he looked after myself and provided me perfect advice. He also provided great physiotherapist in the name of Martin O'Connell. Thanks Paul!

Following an arthroscopy on my right knee 5 years ago (my fourth but the first on me by Mr Trikha) I had no hesitation in returning to him for a total knee replacement. He was honest with the amount of hard work needed post op but assured me it would reap dividends. I had disposed of my crutches by the time of the two week follow up and removal of the staples, by the six week follow up I have almost full range of movement back and whilst the knee is still a little swollen I don't have any pain and have returned to light gym work. Aiming for skiing in February - Mr Trikha, and the physio think that is a real possibility (time will tell!). The general care I received from Mr Trikha and the Nuffield, Woking was exemplary and Mr Trikha's humour kept me smiling immediately post op. Would I recommend him? Absolutely, and without reservation. RF

I had a total knee replacement 6 weeks ago. Mr Paul Trikha was the consultant orthopaedic surgeon who operated on me. He was very informative on the initial consultation told me about the operation, showed me a model of the knee replacement, answered my questions and told me if I followed his instructions after the operation and completed the exercises correctly, however uncomfortable they were, I would be up walking quickly. Well true to his word as tough as the exercises were I walked into his office 2 weeks later carrying one crutch. With his experience, help from the Physio department at the BMI Runnymede and general encouragement I am out of pain and walking without a limp. If you need a new knee or any other orthopaedic work done Mr Paul Trikha is the consultant to see. Thank you Mr Trikha

From the initial consultation I was confident and reassured that I was in safe hands. I was made aware of the operation procedure and a recovery regime of exercise. 3 weeks after the operation I am walking perfectly and pain free. Heartfelt thanks GP
