Mr. Kelkar was extremely professional at all times and took great care of me since day one. Immediately after my operation, I was really pleased as I did not feel any pain and everything healed quickly. Mr. Kelkar showed a lot of knowledge and was very thorough through the way he explained what I, as a patient, needed to know about my surgery. Mr Kelkar went to great lengths to make me comfortable, and to put me at my ease. He explained everything carefully, and checked to see if I understood. He is a technical man and uses diagrams and models to clarify the key points, Mr Kelkar is a good example of a modern phsician and surgeon, well trained and ready to listen to the aprehension and fears that I had. Mr.kelkar gave me reassurance before the procedure and gave me a high degree of confidence for the future after the operation. This all took place in the Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood. His team were all professional and each person contributed to the day being a good one.I now have to wait for the results of the biopsy. I hope that his positive remarks after the procedure are accurate and truly worthy of my confidence in him.

Dr. Kelkar performed radical prostatectomy on me by robotic surgery in February 2019, at University College Hospital at Westmoreland Street (the drop-down menu on this page does not list this address, strangely). By chance, it was also Dr. Kelkar who did my pre-operation consultation. At the consultation, Dr. Kelkar went over the test results and scan with me and explained everything clearly. He answered my questions patiently, reassured me, and made sure I did not feel rushed. I saw him briefly the morning of my afternoon surgery. I was pretty frazzled, but he was again very calming. And as for the surgery itself, all I can do is state the results. Once the initial couple of months of recovery were behind me, I improved quickly and pretty soon had virtually no loss of continence. In general I have felt as good as before the sickness. I will always be grateful for his pre-surgery care and, especially, his obvious virtuosity as a surgeon.
