I was in hospital care under Mr. Vanash Patel who is highly qualified and talented young colorectal and general consultant surgeon. The gentleman has great bedside manners, he listened to me carefully, didn’t rush me, addressed all my concerns and was punctual on his daily ward rounds. My care at the Watford General Hospital on this occasion was excellent. All my investigative tests were promptly arranged by Mr. Patel which was reassuring for me. I want to thank Mr. Vanash Patel and his team and the staff at Ridge Ward at Watford General Hospital for looking after me. My best wishes to all.

My assessment with Mr. Patel was very straight forward, considerate and clear in his approach. The following investigations were carried out quickly, with excellent explanation as he did in discussing the pros and cons undertaking the surgery. I was treated with respect and dignity throughout the whole process and support was taken to provide provision for my after care. I have made a complete recovery with very neat scarring. The hospital facilities were also excellent and caring.

Doctors, nurses, all medical care was faultless. IT connections were not so satisfactory.

At our consultation, Mr Patel explained fully what the operation entailed, did an examination and confirmed the diagnosis, listened to our questions and responded to them. I have a history of a blood clotting disorder and Mr Patel reassured us that he would be in contact with the teams responsible for this before the operation to ensure that all tests and medications required will be done before the operation. He was reassuring, listened to us, attentive to our concerns and gave clear explanations. His aftercare was also exemplary especially as I had a complication 2 days post-operatively. He dealt with the emergency swiftly and obtained care for me urgently even though he was away on a course himself. We are grateful for his care pre, during and post-operatively.
