A superb, caring surgeon. Five weeks after a total hip replacement I am pain free and much more mobile than I have been for over a year. Mr Jain took time in carefully explaining the whole process and reassuring me over concerns I had due to being on anticoagulant therapy. I was out of hospital after 2 nights instead of the planned 3. I would highly recommend Mr Jain for hip replacement.

Excellent care from start to finish with Mr Jain and his team, physios at Somerfield were excellent and available to answer questions, worries, re-assurance. Mr Jain patiently answered all our questions many times. Only thing I would suggest is that when surgery for total knee replacement is offered the length of time it could take to make a full recovery is stressed. The recovery from operation for me took far longer than anticipated and although I know everyone is different a worse case scenario would have stopped me from worrying that something within the first 8 weeks had not gone wrong and it was normal for soft tissue swelling and stiffness of the leg for a year/18 months post op.

Mr R Jain is an extremely professional Consultant. He instantly put me at ease and I felt comfortable speaking to him. He has listened to my concerns and needs regarding pain relief and I recently had bilateral injections to the hips to ensure I had pain relief on both sides. This means I can currently walk without pain, which is truly amazing for me. Although I have had several injections prior to this, but one at a time and several months apart. However, having Hip Dysplasia does mean I will need Hip replacements in the future, and whilst I appreciate I am still deemed as young, it would be good to get them sooner rather than later so I am young enough to enjoy a life without pain.

I went to see Mr Jain about my knee problem which I have had for the last seven years, he looked at my knee and looked at my xray and told me there was bone on bone, and the next thing would be a knee replacement, and he told me all about the operation and the recovery period,I went in on the 18th July and had the operation ,I am now into my sixth week and very pleased with the result,I will continue to do the exercise they have told me to do,and my stay in the hospital was great and I got first class service, all I can say is I can not thank Mr Jain enough for what he has done for me and given me a better quality of life. Kind regards John Parra
