My father in law was admitted to Harvey Ward and was a patient their for 5 weeks before transferring to a Nursing home. As a family we were concerned about his care due to him having Parkinson’s and dementia. Some of our previous experiences at Medway hospital With him had not been good and that was when we could gain access and be with him until we were chucked out at night!
During the difficult time of not being able to visit due to Covid 19 Our concerns were heightened. Luckily he was placed by a window so we could ‘visit ‘ him daily. The care, dignity and respect he received from the staff in there was brilliant. Ranging from nurses, Dr’s domestics, physio’s and care staff . Mya the sister on the ward always had time for us. Thank you Harvey ward and staff, you are a credit to the NHS , caring profession and yourselves !
