I went to see Mr. Gupta over 8 years ago and after x rays and scans he suggested a wrist replacement. I had never heard of such a thing before, and was a bit dubious. However he explained the options I had, how it would be done, what the possible outcome could be. He was very thorough and really explained everything to me in detail. I was very impressed with his manner and therefore very confident in his ability as a surgeon. I went for the full wrist replacement. The surgery went very well and on the subsequent visits everything was working well. I had great physio sessions with the therapist and am now, 8 years down the line ,doing excellently. He is not only an excellent surgeon but a very kind, caring, empathic person.

In August 2016 my GP referred me to Ashford physiotherapy department for pain in both of my lower arms. When treatment commenced one month later my left arm had become very painful. Three physio sessions later in December, I had to visit my GP surgery for pain relief. One of the doctors examined me and decided that I should be referred to the orthopaedic department at Ashford. I had one further physio session at which time it was thought that I might have a tendon problem. Acupuncture treatment was proposed to assist with pain relief. On 29th December I attended orthopaedics and was sent for an x-ray. I returned to the same GP two weeks later for more pain relief. The x-ray report had requested an ultrasound test which had not been set up. She arranged urgent action on this while I waited. Ultrasound followed within two days and five days later I was called to see Mr. Rohit Gupta at his upper limb clinic. He decided that I needed an MRI scan. During this time I was under both physiotherapy and orthopaedic departments. I was subsequently discharged from physio. Acupuncture was cancelled. The acupuncture was offered with the best of intentions, but without the benefit of the GP intervention, the problem with my arm may not have been realised for some time. I am grateful to that doctor for what she did on my behalf. During my meeting with Mr. Gupta on 9th February I was told that the MRI scan showed a Left Distal Biceps Tendon Rupture. At that time Mr. Gupta arranged for x-rays and an MRI scan on my right arm, should a similar problem be developing. Mr. Gupta performed a repair procedure on 7th March 2017 at St. Peter's hospital. I wore a plaster cast and later an arm brace for six weeks in total. Physiotherapy followed and is ongoing. The findings regarding my right arm indicated a non-serious condition. On 15th June I saw Mr. Gupta for a review. I am now pain free and able to rotate my left hand anti-clockwise to a much greater degree than possible prior to surgery. Physiotherapy is ongoing for a while. The service I have received from Mr. Gupta and his team has been exemplary. I was fully informed on every step of the way. Consequently, at the point of surgery I was entirely confident of being in safe hands. My grateful thanks are extended to all responsible for a successful outcome.

After a mountain bike accident in October 2016, I saw Mr Gupta. After a scan, he identified I had torn 95% of my rotator cuff and I had also torn my posterior labrum. Due to work commitments, I was not able to have the operation until mid-December. Mr Gupta repaired both my posterior labrum and rotator cuff with keyhole surgery. I was in hospital overnight but discharged the following lunchtime. I was given a large wedge to wear 24hrs a day to support my arm and physio to complete at home. I iced the repair and did the physio as recommended and wore the wedge for a month. During the consultation process, I was informed that I should be prepared not to be back on my bike for at least six months. However due to Mr Gupta's fantastic keyhole surgery and care I was able to get back onto my mountain bike just three months after the surgery. After four months I rode for four days on some of the toughest trails in The Lake District - a testament to Mr Gupta's repair! Thank you!

Dr Gupta treated me for my tennis elbow. I had suffered from it for 1,5 years with periods of intense pain, restricting me from playing sports and many day-to-day activities. I had done several treatments with different doctors (cortisone injection, fysio, and 1 PRP injection without local anaesthetic with another orthopaedic dr which was so painful I almost fainted). When I visited Dr Gupta for the first time he suggested to make an MRI first before doing anything. The MRI showed a severe tennis elbow and left 2 possibilities: either an operation or 3 PRP shots 2 weeks apart. After a good consultation with Dr. Gupta, we decided to go for the PRP injections although they were not covered by my insurance. Dr Gupta never gives PRP shots without local anaesthetic and this made an enormous difference. After 3 PRP injections and follow-up fsyio I am 100% cured of my tennis elbow. Dr Gupta is not only an incredible doctor, he is also very approachable, gives a very clear explanation of his treatments and always takes enough time for his patients.

Mr Gupta did a brilliant job performing a pec major repair, of which I am now fully recovered. I had an accident and scans showed complete separation of the pec major tendon from my arm. Time was a factor, as the longer I had to wait for surgery the more complex recovery would be. Mr Gupta was amazing. He was warm, friendly, a great listener through the process, coordinated my care really well, and made the time to get the operation done as soon as possible. I hadn't seen a GP for 20 years until this point, let alone have an operation, so I was very nervous. Mr Gupta put me at ease prior to the operation and his follow-up care was very reassuring. A full pec major separation is a rare and serious injury, so I was grateful to have Mr Gupta perform the operation. It went very well, and as someone who loves exercise and needs to move as part of my job, I was over the moon at the speed of my recovery. I am back to full strength, and don't think about the arm at all now day-to-day, such was the quality of work. That is down to Mr Gupta's care and expertise and I cannot thank him enough.
