I was sent to a&e by gp and it is a shambles, people were standing or sitting on the floor as not enough chairs, there were no cubicles and people had to be sent back to waiting room there were 14 ambulances waiting outside to offload patients. Usually I would have been sent to Abergavenny or Hereford but Hereford was full and Abergavenny was closed. I am still waiting for urgent report to be sent to my gp, I went on 6th September and it’s now 15 th my gp still hasn’t had reports

11 and a half hours in A&E for a half hour procedure to stop a nosebleed! Department is unclean, and they couldn't have found more uncomfortable chairs (if you were lucky enough to get one) No information given about waiting times. Doctor was great when I actually saw her, but the whole department needs an overhaul.

A&E....long wait...patients with no masks and nobody addressing this Poor communication...nobody answers the phone and difficult to get update of patient Ward manager lacking empathy and understanding of care needs and frustrations of patients who are ill and unable to make robust decisions Food needs improving Medical items lacking...is this a state of the art new hospital? I think not Organisation and management need looking at On positive A&E nurse at first point of contact caring and helpful Recognition given to staff shortages

A few days ago my 95 year old Mother was taken by an ambulance crew with severe chest pains to the grange after my father rang 999 at 4am. It took just over an hour for the ambulance to arrive and by the time they reahed the grange it was nearer 6am! My immobile 95 year old Father was given a peice of paper with my number on it and advised to call me at 9am. Confused and concerned he rang me at 7am. I promptly proceed to his home to accompany him. I rang the hospital a little after 9 am to enquire how my mother was and after 40 mins on hold my details were taken for the nurse looking after mum (apparently) to ring me back with an update. I rang again at 11.00 and the same process was repeated and no call was received by my Father or myself during this time. I rang at 3pm and was told she had been waiting in a queue in the car park for a Covid Test until almost 1pm!! I wasnt able to gain any further info at this time but was assured I would get a call back. 5pm still nothing and my elderly Father was becoming quite distressed not even knowing if his wife of 71 years was receiving treatment and imaging the unimaginable! I had a GP appointment to attend (ECG, Blood, XRAY myself) and left dad comfortable in his chair with the telephone beside him. I returned with a friend an hour later to find him hanging virtually head first from his chair with his head and hand balancing him on the phone which he had been gripping onto for some 40 mins again on hold with no response. I began to dial the Grang from the landline whilst my friend used her Mobile. At around 9.30 we were informed that Mum would be returning home. I asked how and was informed by ambulance (Its around a 40 min drive) In fact , my friend and I remained almost constant on one phone or another until after 11pm by which time for over two hours NO ONE KNEW WHERE MY MOTHER WAS! I spoke with the site Manager several times and was assured Mum would be located and returned home. Around 10pm I received a call from the Night A& E senior nurse to say, its to late for transport would you object to mum coming alone in a Taxi? Seriously my head almost imploded. less than 7 stone in a nightdress at gone ten at night! I demanded the site manager rang me straight away, (By the way , we still had not been informed at all, what was wrong with mum) Amazing the site Managers phone was now off and remained so till we retired around midnight unable to do anything more. 1.30 am - A call on Dads landline (good job i stayed as he cannot hear the phone) Mums NOW ON HER WAY HOME in an ambulance! What the heck? 95 years old, was kept on a trolley in A & E from eventually leaving the car park to gaining hospital access at 1pm. 12 hours of waiting on a trolley! Fearful to ask for the toilet as the nurse kept telling her to wait, 24 hrs after her ordeal she is still very unwell and I now cannot get a GP app so have to wait till the end of surgery this afternoon for someone to come out. Sent home from the grange with ZERO meds! ANGRY does NOT describe how I feel

My daughter was sent there as there isn’t an A&E in Neville hall anymore. We was seen pretty quickly to be fair. We was moved into a booth Where there was a bed for my daughter to lay on, they didn’t offer a drink to me or her in the whole time wwe was there! They sent us away at 4am with no way of getting home. The toilet was fowl and so unsanitary! There was tissues all over the sink and floor , dirty marks all over the toilet and sink and handles. It was like it for the whole 6 hours we was there and was not cleaned once! They have signs everywhere about keeping masks on, washing hands etc but couldn’t even clean a toilet. Many went in an out and not once was it disinfected! It was pretty cold and no one offered a blanket to my daughter. The staff stand around bit**ing and gossiping and filling thier faces! The one nurse was meant to bring calpol to my daughter and never did! Even after asking twice! They did two sets of obs on my daughter in six hours! Honestly is a disgrace to the NHS and they should be ashamed of themselves! There is a cause for concern with how it is run, the negligence from some of the staff and the risk for contamination and spread of germs in this hospital! There wasn’t even anywhere you could get a drink! Honestly avoid if you can!

My wife was suffering with kidney stones and was forced to walk out of the A&E waiting area to goto a shed outside where her details could be taken, eventually a nurse appeared to take the information and we were allowed into A&E, What followed was simply put a nightmare, my wife was left with no pain medication and was crying out in pain, another poor lady passed out all with no interaction from any medical staff. If it weren't for my complaining to the receptionist I believe my wife would have had to wait considerably longer than she did. The only saving grace of this poorly organised mess was the excellent medical staff that eventually helped. From the orderlies to the nurses and doctors all were excellent, showing care and attention when needed. I am not conceited enough to say I have the answer to these issues but I am aware that as it stands I would not recommend anyone going to the A&E department, for the sake of the patients this needs to be addressed.

The maternity staff on B3 are amazing, caring, helpful and we have the upmost respect for the work they do. BUT communication is appalling my grandson was born on the 2nd June and everything was fine, mother and baby doing well they the routine blood test, eg heel prick for baby. Day 3 got told low magnesium levels but not low enough to worry about you will be going home soon, next shift arrived to do same tests even though told already done this happened quite a number of time to the point we lost track. Day 4 more tests again for same thing this time due to amount of times they used his feet they now start using his hands, still no treatment for baby as not required and still awaiting discharge. No support or help or information given to new parents apart from your not going home again but no explanation as to why and again no treatment given as not required. Ask to talk to ward manager and doctor to complain over 2 hours and still waiting. This is something that needs to change, communication is a major part to health care in all areas and its failing quick.
