I have been a Critical Care Nurse for nearly 40 years so I have a pretty good idea when things are not right. Will bullet point as too frustrated and angry to recap the whole upsetting episode. My Son in severe pain. All signs of good poisining 14 hour wait Dr refused his stool sample Dr and Nurses refused further sample Ongoing abdominal pain Dr eventually paints a clear picture of IBD and a life of pain Dr mentions colostomy and ileostomy and perforation. Dr refuses fresh stool sample to confirm NOT just inflammatory. Fight for antibiotics Leave A&E deeply upset and horrified at rushed diagnosis I obtain fresh stool sample and rush to Gp Confirmed Campylobacter infection (severe) Anti B's work. 5kgs lost Never been so relieved to hear my Son had food poisoning. Utter incompetence and a dreadful experience. Have worked in Welsh ITU, and never seen such poor care and egregious practice. Relocating

presented with severe abdominal and pelvic pain, alongside burning bladder and vulval symptoms. I have a known history of endometriosis, and my pain level was very high. During my assessment, I felt that my symptoms and pain were dismissed. When my appendix was being considered, a comment was made that I was “walking normally,” which felt invalidating given the severity of my pelvic pain. Many patients with chronic pain conditions mask discomfort, and I did not feel this was taken into account. I did also for pain relief when was originally offered at 3am. I asked for pain relief at 4am and I never received this. I then asked if I could be transferred to gyna ward was told that I could not be referred to emergency gynaecology because it was Sunday and that such referrals are usually for patients with low blood pressure or who are “bleeding out.” I was also told that only a GP could refer me. I never felt so dismisses, im surprised they're doctors as a rock got more compassion than them. They don't have the knowledge to help someone and don't even give an ultrasound to ensure I am fine just rely on blood tests... Which I don't think is effective. Now they left me in pain all day. If you have endo any stage be careful as they don't have even the basic experience regarding pain threshold. It's really concerning and the worst thing I went for my appendix to checked nearly 7 hours for nothing.

My 89 year old father and I attended the emergency department at the end of January. My father was advised to attend as he'd had a suspected stroke. The waiting room was packed. My father was triaged within half an hour and put on an ECG. The staff treated my father with kindness and dignity and explained everything that was happening all the way through his tests. At 89 my father had never been treated in a hospital before and has never even taken a tablet, not even a paracetamol, so was understandably anxious. The staff were wonderful to address his concerns and allowed me to be with him at all times. In total we were there for over 25 hours but the hospital was at full capacity and the staff were doing all they could to look after everyone. The care was faultless. Every single member of staff was outstanding. My father had not had a stroke but they did pick up a heart issue which has been further investigated and meds prescribed. Special mention to Dr Adu who is everything a doctor should be. I cannot thank all the hospital staff enough.

Was sent to the SDAU by my gp. Had intermittent rectal bleeding, abdominal pain and lower back pain. Had an examination by a nurse who said he couldn’t see no blood (I told them several times it was intermittent). After an hour I was seen again by a surgeon who spent about 10 seconds pressing my stomach got me up and said I The back pain was nothing to do with my abdominal pain. I was given ibuprofen script and booked for a routine colonoscopy. The “nurse” then took the needle out of my arm and basically ushered me out. She was very rude and I found her quite dismissive and patronising even though she’s supposed to be a nurse practitioner. No patient skills! When I got out side the doors of the unit I discovered where she had taken the needle out I was bleeding profusely through my clothes. I couldn’t get back in and so I had to walk to another unit and get help. The male nurse there was brilliant, stopped the bleeding and cleaned me up. Made sure I was ok before he let me leave as I was feeling faint. All in all a very bad experience and still don’t know why I’m bleeding and in pain!

My Dad John Way came on 28th February early hours of the morning after falling down the steps in the garden. My Dad 7s on thinners and my Mum couldn't stop the bleeding. My Dad had fell against the wall and taken all of the skin off his left arm. The staff were absolutely brilliant. Nothing was toomuch trouble. They gave my Dad a nice cup of tea and offered my Mum one too. They were both in shock .They said that the staff put them at ease. They are all absolute diamonds all of them.

Visited the Grange hospital last Thursday week ,had been on antibiotics for 4 weeks for a wisdom tooth abscess .Initially the A+E department is not very welcoming it’s very busy with a lot of patients 76 when I arrived , after 15 minutes at 11:00 went into Triage , back into waiting room for another 15 minutes then went in to Maxilla Facial . I had had a CT scan previously that week and in the meeting was told I had a broken jaw . Within 20 minutes had seen a consultant and his Team . Because I hadn’t eaten that morning by 14:00 I was in the operating theatre having a wisdom tooth removed and a 3” Titanium plate installed along the break in my jaw . Everything all along was explained to me , it was a bit of a whirlwind as I was only expecting to go on IV antibiotics but after the explanation by the Consultant there was no other option . Was out of recovery and into a single room , by the time I woke up at 19:00 . I had preconceived Ideas about the Grange Hospital before I went in because of some reports I had read , but I can honestly say that from start to finish when I left on Friday at 12:00 I could have not had better care and treatment from any other Hospital. Many thanks to all the staff at the Grange for my treatment and care .

Disgusting hospital, not enough beds sleeping or rather not sleeping in these green chairs or a red recliner. I suffer back pain and was in agony , left in them on average for about almost 2 days sometimes more. Some of the nurses are considerite but most are ignorant and would rather stand around chatting than care for patients calling out for help. It seems most elderly patients are ignored as when a nurse walks by there bed and calls out they seem to ignore them and walk a bit quicker. One lady ended up messing herself as she was waiting for a bedpan obviously incontinent and was ignored for at least 30 minutes calling that she needed the toilet and at least 7 nurses just walked past ignoring her cries for help but looking in and walking by.I spent almost a day outside in a ambulance waiting to go into the hospital. They lost my notes on several occasions and I once spent 4 hours waiting for just 1 paracetamol and a lot of times never received medication I requested. Once I never received any food I asked for a jacket potato and never received from the nurse who took my order at lunchtime so informed another nurse who said she would get me a sandwich and surprise surprise she didn't return either, I spent one day without food the whole day. Sometimes when I was due medication I was told to go back to my chair and wait , was just left waiting so would ask another nurse and told the same thing .One security guard was very angry and nasty I was ill and having hallucinating so had a few issues and was panicking a lot and he just kept shouting in my face I was causing trouble . I was told to leave the hospital about 30 minutes drive from home no transport about 3am keep walking find a field or somewhere traffic cannot see you and just lay down or stay there whilst being followed by 3 security guards but to be honest they did not look like security at all . I would be very wary of this hospital

The is no care at this hospital ,you are more likely to see Santa Claus than a medical member of staff. My 8 week old grandad son who has a problem with his bowels and pain in his left side arrived there 8th December 2024 about 6.30pm, they were put in a room were they have been ever since it is now 11.00pm 9th December ,this is 28 hours. All they have done in this time is take blood and send nappy for tests. The mother has had no hot food or sleep. They said she would see a pediatric nurse at 1.00pm but when she texted me at 6.00 pm she still had not seen her. This is not care this is neglect.I would give them a minus on this review but it does not allow this

My mother was discharged still in great amount of pain, i was told she would now be treated in the community but the GP refused to call as he said it was the hospital responsibility. We would not treat animals like this, we should all be totally ashamed of what we all like think is our great health service. We treat our elderly like they are a inconvenience and hope they will just die quietly.
