From the minute I booked my consultation, the support and guidance I have had from Mr Awad has been exceptional. He has been very professional at all times and has listened to my concerns and answered any queries that I had immediately. The recovery programme straight after surgery was fantastic, the programme (Liver Reduction Diet) to prepare for surgery was explained well. He was very positive, kind and friendly at all times during the process and always put me ease. I had 100% confidence in him from the start. He advised the most suitable bariatric surgery for me based on my own circumstances taking into account current long term medications and malabsorption. I was highly impressed with his professionalism and expertise at all times and would recommend him without any shadow of doubt to anyone. I had done hours of research prior to contacting Tonic Surgery. I chose Dr Awad because he as worked extensively with bariatric patients. Tonic surgery offer a holistic approach to surgery with great communication before surgery and a comprehensive after care package. The staff at Burcot Hall in Birmingham were professional, approachable knowledgeable. I can’t thank the Nurses and health care staff enough. Thank you to Jill for a lovely warm smile and Trish. Dr Awad and the anaesthetist Chris are professional, they took the time to listen and provided their expert advice to me. Going into the theatre I definitely wasn’t expecting such great music and a relaxing environment. Communication was fantastic by all the team. I wasn’t awake long enough to see everyone. In recovery, I was very well looked after and my night nurse was superb. Dr Awad visited and informed me that my surgery had gone well. My blood pressure was elevated after the surgery and I was treated appropriately and I am having the BP reviewed with my own GP. Prior to discharge Dr Awad visited and went through my operation again and showed me pictures of my organs and all the visceral fat. Dr Awad explained everything in a language I could understand and I could ask any questions I wanted to. I was discharged with medication and a full explanation of when and how to take it. I am recovering well. Thank you to Dr Awad and the team.

I’ve had such a great experience with Mr Awad. Each interaction has been informative and supportive. On the day of surgery, Mr Awad gave great care. He was so reassuring and caring when it came time to join him in the operating theatre. I have recovered really well post op and this is down to the great work that Mr Awad performed.

Today I am 1 week post op and wanted to comment on my experience from booking to now. I was nervous as I was looking into a revision procedure , tonic staff were so helpful I had surgery with Mr Awad at the Pines in Manchester, Mr Awad went through everything several times to put me at ease , Mr Awad takes such care and making sure you know every single detail you need to do pre and post op to get the best results and be safe. During surgery the nurses were all amazing and I’ve made new sleeve buddies. Since being home and now on the liquid stage I’ve been supported by Debbie V , tonic nurse every day, nothings ever a bother for her no matter how small, I’ve had no complications and tolerating liquid stage. I can’t thank Mr Awad and the Tonic/ Pines team enough including the staff I speak to briefly! You aren’t treated like a number you are treated like an individual I had previous surgery through another weight loss provider and surgeon and in comparison the support that Mr Awad and Tonic pre/post care provide 10000% better!
