I was initially referred to Mr. Rohit Jain in early 2023 after suffering osteoarthritis following a serious motorcycle accident in 2007 resulting in Tibial nails and emergency surgery. I experienced osteoarthritis in both knees for over 16 years with debilitating pain and mobility issues. By the way, I’m a 65-year-old Consultant Engineer who has worked in electrical engineering for fifty years and I still work full time, the past twenty years in and around the NHS Estates portfolio throughout London and South East. After finally meeting with Mr. Jain in January 2023, I was treated with compassion, understanding and a willingness to alleviate the pain and discomfort I had experienced previously for many years. My total right knee replacement was completed at One Ashford on Saturday 15th April 2023 (some six weeks ago) All of the nursing team, the carers, the physiotherapists (Pearl in particular-One Ashford) are first rate and sincere appreciation to Mr. Rohit Jain for returning me to pain free and mobile once again. So, my review six weeks post-surgery: Its not an easy operation, it is a major procedure and recovery is attributable to the patient and their mindset! The surgery was pain free and the care I received from Mr. Jain and the surgical team was first rate…. expect pain, discomfort, and pain… you need to get on top of the pain quickly, don’t wait to take the pain medication, listen to your body. Get yourself an ice bag from Amazon (£12) put it in the fridge, not the freezer, its kinder to your knee and use it regularly for the swelling…..it is the perfect remedy after a long day with a cold glass of wine! Please also consider “Bio-Mechanics” …. Your knee will be not the same as the one you were born with….. I’ve experienced pain and discomfort in my right hip, post-surgery, which is now settling down… its due to the corrected gait you probably didn’t realise you adopted due to your condition….. The pain does get better. Its not wrong to take pain management medication, please don’t sit down and suffer, you’ve been given a second chance with mobility, take it! I mobilised very quickly and was down to one crutch after seven days and two weeks later, no crutches. I did go back to work, albeit a desk jockey in my office on day eight….that was my choice..... Mobility and the constant exercises are the key to you regaining full use of your new knee (Use it or lose it) I believe in having a positive attitude to your recovery. Listen to your physiotherapist, they do know what they’re talking about. So, six weeks post-surgery, I’ve been discharged from the hospital on 30/05/2023. I just wanted to express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Rohit Jain for the excellent surgical team he has put together and the excellent treatment and care I have received to date, after 16 years in pain I can now walk again without a stick! I now have a fully functioning knee, that doesn’t collapse under me, and my knee is pain free.

Mr Jain is a professional Consultant whom, even though Mr Jain is the only Orthopaedic Consultant I've known, I would say is at the top of his game. All appointments were met on time and were informative with all my questions answered. The thought of surgery was daunting for me however, Mr Jain gained my trust which elevated my fears.

I was very pleased to obtain my knee operation very quickly. the consultant Mr Jain was very helpful, friendly and informative. I felt I could talk to him about any of my problems and he would have the time to respond therefore not feeling rushed. I had several meetings at the hospital with Mr Jain the consultant and a group session with two physio nurses before the operation, this was all very helpful and very well explained, with booklets to help. this put my mind at rest and ready to be admitted into hospital. the day I was admitted, ran very smoothly, everyone from the reception staff to the nurses were very attentive, explaining things all the time, my wife was with me and they were very careering towards her also explaining where things were or to always ask if any problems. I cannot fault anything or anyone in the hospital.
