Mr Ghosh has done a great job of reconstructing my medial patellofemoral ligament in my right knee. He had taken over from my previous consultant so I only met him shortly before the surgery. He was friendly and gave me space to raise any questions or concerns about the procedure. The surgery went as planned and 10 weeks on, we’ve been able to review how my kneecap is tracking and seen that the operation was a success. I’m very happy to be under the care of Mr Ghosh, and feel safe and confident in his abilities as a surgeon. In due course I will be having a MPFL reconstruction on my left knee and feel reassured that Mr Ghosh will also be undertaking this procedure for me. I think the NHS is fortunate to have Mr Ghosh as one of their clinicians.

A very good surgeon with an excellent bedside manner. He listened to what I had to say and explained everything in an understandable way. Took me through all my x-rays and talked me through my surgery.

I contacted Mr Ghosh because of a worrying deterioration in my left knee. He explained in clear terms what had happened, going over the xray and describing the benefits of a knee replacement - at the same time giving me all the information re. pain/discomfort to be expected in the first few days after the operation but that with determination it would prove worthwhile. This has been the case. Mr Ghosh's caring attitude was reassuring to this 84 yr old lady and I thank him for his kindness.

Mr Ghosh was fantastic. From the first appointment through to the follow ups after my MPFL reconstruction he has been nothing but kind, understanding and extremely knowledgeable. Thank you for helping me.

Profile

Mr Ghosh qualified from University College Hospital, London in 2004. His orthopaedic training was locally within Sussex and Surrey. Having focussed primarily on lower limb surgery he undertook an international fellowship at the North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre. This focussed his academic and clinical interest in sports related and ligamentous knee injuries. He then undertook a year long fellowship at the Exeter Knee Reconstruction Unit where he developed skills with primary and revision knee replacement. He was a locum hip and knee consultant at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey before being appointed as a substantive consultant at the newly merged University Hospitals Sussex NHS Trust.
Mr Ghosh is passionate about his patient related outcomes and developing local care and services. He carefully monitors his National Joint Registry results and is currently pioneering a Worthing based acute knee clinic alongside local musculoskeletal physiotherapists. He has trained and mentored numerous registrars on the Kent, Surrey and Sussex rotation and takes an active role to educate juniors on the latest orthopaedic research, standards and evidence which he uses to guide his own practice.
