I saw Mr Craik for a knee arthroscopy and partial meniscectomy which has been a total success. I was walking around after surgery and was back to work in the office instead of at home a week later. The incision sites have healed incredibly well with hardly any marks left and my pre-surgery symptoms have been resolved as Mr Craik had assured me. Mr Craik is clearly a highly skilled surgeon but is also a very friendly with great communication which provides reassurance and confidence.

My initial consultation with Mr Craik was very informative, and his caring manner was evident. He offered me options regarding my hip. I decided on a hip block injection which unfortunately only lasted me a couple of weeks. In the end I opted for a total hip replacement. I have had a great outcome, and wish I had gone for this from the outset. I was without crutches within five days of the operation. I had no pain, which meant not having to take the strong medication provided on my discharge from hospital. I took the occasional paracetamol. I found I didn’t need physio, and that the exercises provided by the physio at Ashtead Hospital were sufficient. I was back to playing croquet within two weeks of the operation, and all other activities. I have my life back, thank you Mr.Craik.

I felt Mr Craik had a sympathetic and understanding character from my first consultation. He offered me a choice of options for my hip and went for the hip block injection which was great for a few months. In the end had a total hip replacement and I had complete confidence in Mr. Craik, have already recommended him to a good friend of ours who also needs hip surgery.

Mr Jonathan Craik came to me highly recommended by an acquaintance who had had a total hip replacement carried out by him and was clearly doing very well. I in turn have since recommended him to several friends and acquaintances who are in need of the same surgery. I have found him to be friendly, easily talkable to, with any questions or queries one may have being answered clearly; he is at pains to explain everything fully and simply, using diagrams, one's own x-rays, etc. to illustrate the procedure. I chose to have my hip replacement performed by him, as he is one of the surgeons who offers the direct anterior approach. Having the surgery done this way has resulted in an incredibly rapid recovery, casting aside my crutches and stick after ten days or so, and driving again after two weeks - albeit an automatic car. The pain I had been experiencing for years disappeared almost overnight. Mr Craik has been so attentive, even visiting me in the hospital the morning after surgery while he was off duty, which I very much appreciated. His reassuring manner, as well as his undoubted medical abilities, have meant that I am looking forward to having my other hip operated on, rather than dreading another surgical procedure!
