SWLEOC is clearly a world class centre, respected by all who have come across it. I can absolutely see why. I cannot fault the care, communication, treatment, etc., which I experienced from all staff, from the porter who kindly wheeled me to my car, the admin staff who acted efficiently and with care and kindness, to the nurses who cared for me after my hip surgery, the anaesthetist and the surgeon who performed my total hip replacement. I was treated throughout with kindness and respect, any questions being answered sympathetically and fully, and I would wholeheartedly recommend this centre to anyone I need of orthopaedic care. I am almost looking forward to having my second hip replacement being carried out at this centre.

Our family have had several good experiences of this facility, I personally have had two rotator cuff repairs 5 years apart. Both were successful and achieved everything I hoped for. The surgical team, anesthesiologist and nursing staff were all professional, informative and considerate. I would be happy to have surgery here again.

Very efficient operation - the staff knew exactly what they, and every one else, was doing. Great team in operation!

I had my surgery during COVID so extra care and attention was evident giving me the upmost confidence that me and everyone involved in my care were safe and secure. From the lovely cheerful surgeon Dr Alazzawi putting me at ease before and after the operation to all the staff that cared for me after. There was even a vegan menu with lots of choices that was a relief to see as I was concerned what I would be offered. The only criticism I do have which is a tiny one is that my ward was opposite the nurses station and kitchen area and sometimes the night staff were quite noisy talking loudly and sometimes shouting to each other not considering the patients that were trying to sleep. Apart from that it was a pleasant stay despite the obvious pain which the drugs sorted out.

Just over two weeks ago I had anterior hip replacement by mr Riviere, my second hip replacement, my left hip having a successful replacement 18 months ago. This time I chose to stay awake throughout, I was admitted on Tuesday and discharged on Wednesday. Another successful hip replacement, yes the first week I needed anti inflammatory Meds which I hadn’t needed the first time. In saying that the pain started to disappear quickly after the first week and I now need the odd paracetamol and can climb stairs and walk without a stick. Amazing, best hospital and many thanks to my surgeon. Two new hips great work
