Mr Pickersgill is so wonderful there aren’t the words to describe his professionalism, surgical skill, kindness or care. Over five years he has performed surgeries to enable me to have children, seen me through several miscarriages and a C section. He has referred me to the right people for future specialist care when needed and gone above and beyond when I needed his help. I have never met a better consultant or a more caring man. The NHS is a better place for his care. Cannot rate him highly enough.

Mr. Pickersgill is absolutely AMAZING!!!! I don’t know we’re to start! I was extremely nervous from the first consultation, to my hysterectomy surgery. What an absolute gentleman , LISTENS, extremely knowledgable, caring and most importantly you can trust him. And not forgetting brilliant sense of humour! Which helps when your as nervous as me! He gave me options and were to go next after horrible painful years of periods, extremely painful ovulation every month (which is also mentally draining!) and I even had antibiotics off my GP for possible pelvic infections. I really was so worried not knowing what was up with me! My first face to face consultation was brilliant (previous was telephone), he talked threw my scan results, and as I said before gave me options. He even helped me up off the examination bed (now I have seen a lot of drs who have never done this! Your normally left feeling vulnerable, and I hate that!) believe me I knew he was the prefect consultant for me. He has such a caring nature! It’s the little things that matter the most to me. The morning of the surgery he came to see me explained everything thoroughly, and you can ask him absolutely ANYTHING, he really puts you at ease. You don’t feel like your pestering or feel embarrassed. Once again I was extremely nervous walking to theatre, he walked with me and just before I went to sleep he HELD my hand. This will ALWAYS stick with me, he picked up on my horrible nerves, and made me feel extremely safe!! He gave me lots of reassurance and Honestly from that point I knew everything was going to be ok

Mr Pickersgill is a great surgeon and a lovely, caring, down to earth person. He was so patient with me and put me at ease. He answered all of the questions I had and I felt listened too. He has operated on me twice now and I can’t thank him enough for giving me my life back.

I honestly cannot thank Mr Pickersgill enough. I am truly pain free for the first time in years! 3.5 years ago I collapsed from a rupturing ovarian cyst and was diagnosed with endometriosis. I had surgery at the time to repair the damage but 6 months later symptoms started to appear again. By September 2020 I was in constant pain, bloated all the time and bleeding. I was fortunate to meet Mr Pickersgill who really listened to all my symptoms and explained to me that he believed that my endometriosis had returned and we discussed the options at length. I decided to go ahead with the laparoscopy to remove the endometriosis. To say I was nervous would be an understatement as I was admitted to the regency during lockdown 2.0 so I had to go into the hospital alone. Mr Pickersgill came to see me ahead of the surgery to calm my nerves and explain again what was going to happen. He also came to see me again after the surgery to see how I was and to explain what he had found and that he had removed all the endometriosis again and the adhesions that had formed. The surgery went really well and I recovered relatively quickly. Everything has healed really well and I have minimal scarring. 7 months post surgery I am completely pain free and symptom free for the first time in years. I honestly cannot thank Mr Pickersgill enough for giving me my spark back. Ladies if you are fortunate enough to be under his care you can have total trust that you have found a fantastic consultant.

We were so lucky to have found this wonderful doctor. After finding out my baby's heart had stopped beating I made my way to the early pregnancy unit as instructed. I had previously had a missed miscarriage and was thoroughly traumatised after and was again fearful of the same treatment. Last time, at an NHS hospital, I was left over a month, got sepsis and required an emergency D&C and a stay in hospital. When I went, yet again, they wanted me to wait for any treatment, disregarding previous scans I had had privately (for reassurance purposes due to last times events). We searched all over the internet for help and made repeated calls to different places until a wonderful receptionist at Regency picked up. After lots of intervention on her behalf we had an appointment the same day with Mr Pickersgill. When we went in to the appointment he listened to me, actually listened. Even though I was anxious, stumbling over my words because of grief and worry, he listened. Not only that, he had empathy for mine and my husbands situation. He asked what I wanted. I felt looked after already and we trusted him 100%. My husband was so thankful (he was so so worried about it all). Once we left, the ball was already rolling and I was able to be booked in as an emergency. Mr Pickersgill messaged day and night, making sure we were informed; consulting us at every turn. He was and is amazing. On the day of my surgery he actually saw me, spoke to me and I was put as priority so I could get home the same day and be with my husband. This was an awful time, but the silver lining in this is meeting this doctor for my care and treatment. I honestly think that if I would have seen him instead of the NHS in my first missed miscarriage, I wouldn't have suffered so much emotional and physical trauma which ultimately lead us to wait over ten years to try again for a baby. I would like to thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for everything.
