I cannot fault anything about the care I received as a day patient. I was treated with respect and compassion both before and after the operation. My outpatient appointments were also very slick and well managed, in a nice environment.

Horrendous place. Avoid. I’ve had 2 instances recently where they’ve let me down massively. 1. My autistic son was referred to their neurology team only to have the referral refused. The dr wouldn’t even speak to me to clear up the situation. Couldn’t care less, the soulless, unprofessional joke! Went through their internal complaints process but obviously they backed themselves. No shock there given their general unprofessionalism. 2. More recently I’d made a booking for scar removal on my lip and was offered a free consultation. Unfortunately, the night before the appointment my son had a significant meltdown in the night meaning we were both up for all of it, and from that I had to miss the appointment due to being on 2hs sleep before work. Tried to rebook and they wouldn’t honour the free consultation, insisted on charging £250 even under the unavoidable circumstances. Couldn’t let that happen so their greed and insensitivity lost them a paying customer. Genuinely soulless place. Find somewhere else as they don’t care about their patients. Am truly sickened by their attitude.

All my appointments and my surgery were carried out efficiently in a very well run, clean and caring environment. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble.

I spent a few days being stressed because I had been checked for bilateral hernia, but all the staff kept referring to the notes and saying unilateral. I was panicked that only one side would end up getting operated on. Finally one nurse went and made sure that the ultrasound results were connected to my record so everyone knew it was bilateral. Spire emails are confusing and need rewording. Don’t use HCN acronym, it isn’t clear to patients what it means. I nearly went to HCN in Wilmslow for an appointment! I would like to say the staff are amazing, and the hospital is wonderful.

I had surgery on my hand under a local anaesthetic. I was treated by Mr Zaf Naqui. I have been a part-time entertainer for 59 years. I play mostly guitar and keyboards. I had problems with my index finger, right hand. I was referred to a surgeon who recommended Carpal Tunnel Surgery that should, he said, cure my problem. I was very wary of being subjected to hand surgery as my musical activities are an enormously important part of my life and I was not about to have surgery without being convinced that this would cure my medical problem without affecting my musical activities. I went ahead with the surgery. Six weeks later my pain was worse and I was referred to Mr Zafar Naqui. On my first consultation, Mr Naqui told me that for 30 years (I think it was 30), he had only dealt with health problems that occurred between fingertips and elbow. I felt relieved by this statement from Mr Naqui and immediately felt both at ease and confident in his ability to cure my hand problem. I went on to have surgery and quite intensive physiotherapy treatment. The physiotherapy treatment, provided by Ms Sarah Keogh, was also of the highest standard following both operations. The surgery and after-care completely cured my hand problem and when I experienced the same problem with my left hand some time later, I had no concerns about having the same treatment, by the same surgeon (and physiotherapist), on my other hand. I have recently had surgery on my left hand and am back playing instruments at the same standard as before surgery. Thank you to Mr Naqui and his team.
