Mr Vats performed total knee replacement on my right knee 3 weeks ago. From my first dealings with Amit around 18 months ago I have always felt completely at ease and confident in his understanding of my situation on a clinical level and on a personal level as well. Communication through the booking team was regular and it was all relativity easy. Prior to the surgery, I was seen the day before to have xrays and a chat with Amit just to confirm the procedure and expected outcomes. Results of the surgery seem to be positive so far. The only negative point of the experience was the discharge process as the was on Easter Sunday and discharge medication was not reviewed and I felt I did not have a high enough level of medication to deal with the pain levels. Ended up having to go through my GP practice a few days later

I wish to compliment and thank Mr Amir Vats and all the many individuals and specialists teams at Ashford Hospital involved in my total knee replacement operation on November 8, 2023. The organisation and management of such a complex activity before, during and after the operation was exceptional. The subsequent physio support was very reassuring. The operation itself was most successful which enabled the rehab programme to deliver the expected benefits of pain free mobility and dexterity of the knee joint. At week 20 of the rehab the progress is significant with the knee getting stronger month by month.

Mr. Vats is very personable and professional and explained everything to my wife and I in a concise, very understandable, caring and empathetic way. He has a marvellous bed side manner that put me completely at ease.

From my initial consultation with Mr Vats the treatment and the care that I received right through to my discharge was second to none. At the end of the day you have no idea who your surgeon will be, or how things will turn out, but I would like to say that I was really pleased with my care and my operation was a success, and I am out of pain and discomfort thanks to him and his team. Mr R Gillett
