I recently fell and suffered a tibial plateau fracture- Mr Khaleel’s operated on my leg and I had a frame fitted. I cannot speak highly enough of Mr Khaleel’s and his Team. They all excelled in their treatment and all staff on Swan Ward treated me well. I was in a lot of Trauma pain and all staff were there whenever I needed them. Within 6 months my leg healed with only small dimples where the pins went through my leg showing- these are nearly gone. I would thoroughly recommend this Team as I cannot speak highly enough of them and thank them all for my recovery.

Very kind and thoughtful surgeon. Mr Khaleel looked after my mum's foot and she found him very easy to talk to. He patiently looked after her and provided her with advice. Thank you, Mr Khaleel.

I had bunion surgery under Dr Khaleel in 2013-14 and I must be honest; it is the second biggest regret of my entire life. Since having this surgery the mechanics of my foot, ankle, legs, pelvis, hips and back has changed very very much for the worse. The operated foot can no longer perform its basic function of bearing and distributing weight (properly and effectively) let alone generate a proper gait. My gait has completely changed, I cannot walk in a straight line. My foot and ankle is seriously over-pronated. One hip has migrated far behind the other. My entire body feels completely imbalanced. I cannot find balance in yoga. I cannot stand firm on an uneven surface without something to grip. I’m too scared to return to dance lessons as the foot feels so incredibly unstable and stiff. The site of surgery is in continuous pain. Walking used to be a joy and has now become a wrong-feeling chore. The big toe is so out of line that it clings grossly to the second toe. All of the above is after years of vigoruous self-practised deep tissue massage, foot strength exercises, stretching and attempted self-manipulation of the joints. Certain important parts of my body have become much less active since this surgery. It looks and feels an absolute mess - it draws stares in public and from my family and friends. To put into perspective my desperation with the results of this surgery - I willingly threw myself into a moshing circle pit barefoot at a gig last week with hopes of people’s feet stamping some life and feeling back into my foot. I felt I had travelled a little further back towards planet Earth afterwards. Khaleel himself is a kindly fellow who is pleasant to deal with however I notice that he speaks in a tone that quietly but strongly discourages too many questions. I don’t find that honorable. In follow up consultations, when I have mentioned a palable feeling of imbalance and at times sharp pain in my hips, he disregarded it as ‘the effects of getting old’ - I’m 28. He has given good advice regarding selecting appropriate footwea however what I am really seeking is a referal to an effective osteopath who can manipulate and crack my foot and ankle joints back into life, as well as suggestions on how to tackle the considerable amount of scar tissue/edema that has built all over and under the foot and ankle. I believe these two things would vastly improve the mobility of the foot, yet all Khaleel could repeatedly suggest was more surgery? I would have thought that the appearance of my foot would suggest the above options has being quite obvious choices, and am shocked that the above measures wern’t offered or discussed as a matter of procedure. I don’t seek to bring unnecessary disrepute to any person however I feel it’s right to bring attention to the velocity of my disappointment with this surgery and its aftercare. I am due to see Mr Khaleel this week and am hoping he will be ready to discuss the above options as well as any other suggestions for improving foot mobility and comfort and reducing pain. I don’t wish to be hurried out within ten minutes as I travel 45 minutes each way to get to Ashford Hospital. One further thing I’d add is that in the recent (March 2018) surgery I had to remove hardware, a Dr Nutt (whom i cannot find on this site) made a fresh incision on my foot when we had explicity agreed that he would cut into the original scar. I now have to two scars and the discomfort has increased. This displays a complete disregard for a patient’s wishes. Moreover, I had been informed that there were four screws in my foot and once the procedure was over was told ‘they only found three’ with no further explanation. Hopefully Dr Khaleel and I can work together to find solutions to the above.
