I found Miss Dua to be very caring and understanding. She gave me all the time I needed to digest the news of my diagnosis and answer any questions I had. She was patient, attentive, honest and kind. She explained everything in a manner that was easily understood. She also has a very good sense of humour.

From the moment my husband and I walked into Sascha's office we felt confident that we had made the right choice of surgeon. She was friendly, confident about what she knew needed to be done for me and very professional. She explained everything in detail and understood that there was a lot to take in so she never minded when we asked the same questions more than once. It was a shock when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I saw Miss Dua a week later and I felt completely at ease after meeting her. She explained thoroughly everything that was going to happen in the operation and I was relieved to know that she would operate on me. She is very approachable and answers any questions, however silly they might sound to yourself. I would definitely recommend her for anyone diagnosed with breast cancer and also the nurses at the breast care unit at Broomfield hospital.

Sascha Dua FRCS MD is a Consultant Breast Surgeon with specialist training in Oncoplastics, Breast reconstruction and a further higher specialism in cosmetics. Sascha went to medical school at Guys and St Thomas's (University of London) and undertook her higher surgical training at leading centres including 4 years at the Royal Marsden Hospital, where she won a scholarship to undertake a doctorate as the first surgical scientist at the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Centre, reknowned for its work on the BRCA2 gene and cancer genetics. Sascha was awarded the prestigious Raven Prize in Academic surgery for research in 2007, and has been a specialised breast consultant since 2011 in Mid Essex Hospitals Trust.
