Parathyroidectomy March 24 Springfield hospital I saw Simon Smith privately at Springfield Hospital, after realising the very long wait on the NHS. At my initial consultation , Mr. Smith gave an honest , accurate account of what I could expect from surgery . I found him very easy to talk to and he answered all questions fully and clearly . On the day of my surgery, I was put very much at ease , when I was visited pre op by Mr. Smith and his anaesthetist. I was fully briefed which reduced my anxiety and prepared me for surgery. The surgery was a complete success as my awful fatigue disappeared completely , along with other horrible symptoms of parathyroidism. Overall, I was extremely happy with the pre , during and post care I received from Mr. Smith and would recommend him to anybody considering this life changing surgery.

I have wanted a breast reduction for about 20 years and I finally decided to take the plunge after having a meeting with Mr Smith at one of his One Stop Breast clinics about another matter. I returned for a consultation but I had already made up my mind he was the surgeon for me. He is very reassuring and so very kind, setting you at ease straight away, taking time to answer any questions. I had no doubt in my mind I wanted to go ahead with the surgery. On the 23rd May, the day of the surgery, everything went like clock work, everyone at Springfield hospital was superb, the anaesthetist was amazing, settling my pre op nerves. When I woke from surgery I wasn’t in any pain, I got to have a look at my new boobs and I was so happy! I got to go home the same day, I took paracetamol and Ibuprofen for 3 days, just for some minor discomfort. Each day my new boobs are settling into their new shape, and to say I am over the moon is an understatement, my only wish is that I had done it sooner! my neck and shoulder pain has disappeared and the years of constantly feeling self conscious has gone. This operation has been totally life changing for me. I can’t thank Mr Smith and the team at Springfield Hospital enough for everything they have done for me.
