An excellent consultant, and I wish I could have continued with him. However I have had to go elsewhere due to the complete lack of organisation and professionalism of his administrative department. I had to chase up for an appointment sometimes over weeks without returned calls to eventually get through to be told ‘he’s on holiday now for the next 2 weeks’. Whenever I did get through his admin office must have been in a shopping centre, park or kindergarten and it was clear there was no concentration on the conversation. Chasing for a consultation report for over 3 days resulted in strained conversations eventually uncovering that it had been done 4 days before but missed so not sent out. All in all a really good consultant but completely let down by a poor ‘front of shop’

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience when seeing this doctor privately. I had been unwell for some time having nerve pain and being unable to walk due to hyper mobility. The appointment was 45 minutes to an hour late. There was no acknowledgement of this when we finally went in for the consultation room. He took one look at me and asked why am I in a wheelchair. I explained my symptoms and he just said it was down to not sleeping. Now knowing myself pretty well and having experienced my autonomic nervous system dangerously playing up the last few months I begged him with my hands to listen to me. He laughed when I mentioned my eyes were dilating constantly. I won't go into it too much but going ahead I got my eyes checked to which it showed I had nerve compression, with my symptoms it was compression of my sympathetic nervous system. Four months on I'm still in a wheelchair and after being seen it's evident my pelvis is out of place due to a condition called ehler danlos. We paid so much before seeing this doctor and didn't feel it was right because of his lack of help and care to oay the rest. It's been sent to a debt collector now. I'm sure he has some good ways, I hope he has but we are extremely upset by how he conducted himself in such a unprofessional way the day we saw him and since.

From the moment Dr Bhattacharjee opened his consultant room door at the Lister in Stevenage I knew the consultation was going to be difficult. He stood with an expressionless face even though I smiled. Once seated a hand shot from nowhere in front of me and I realised he was offering to shake my hand whilst still looking at his screen. I have never met such a arrogant doctor. Was very unhelpful and whenever I questioned him his eyes narrowed and was spoken to in a very condescending way. Hope I never have to see this doctor again. I hope others speak up about him to. One day I hope all consultations are taped and reviewed as this would stop doctors like him acting the way they do. I came away from this consultation in tears and was so intimidated did not ask about my abnormal mri only got to say a few words. I wish someone in authority would review him.

I have been under his care now for almost 5 years, he's extremely understanding and explains things very well. There were times where I could not understand my condition, he would then explain in greater detail to my children, so that they could look out for signs of my condition, in fact he will always ask mychildren on how I have been and he knows them by their first names.i trust him completely with my condition.

My daughter has been under the care of this consultant for over 3 years now. He has been brilliant and I can not fault the care he has given to her. Unfortunately every individual is different and sometimes it is not always just about the "patient". It is always important to take the patient's family's needs into account as well and then a care plan should be implemented. I have had a very difficult time trying to explain why certain plans made by professionals are not suitable for my child, due to my family needs however I have not got far. I think this is the main boundary between doctor's and patient's which ultimately not only affects the family but the patient too. You are amazing as a consultant but please listen to what the patient and family has to say. You're my only hope I have now for my child.
