I found the staff very welcoming and friendly which put me at ease immediately, the staff listened and answered any concerns I had prior to treatment, and even ran around making a drink for me! The consultant mr Arzoglou was friendly and very confident that the treatment would be successful in my case. The treatment was very quick which surprised me I thought that it would take much longer and was painless! (I had been told by other persons this treatment did cause pain which is clearly not the case!). And true to his word within half an hour after suffering severe pain for over 9 months the pain level decreased to a very manageable level then down to almost zero pain over the coming weeks! The attention by all the staff and the consultant was excellent and the speed of the treatment process was explain in detail and very professionally carried out! Clearly in my case I have been fortunate that the treatment was so successful 10/10 for everyone.

the consultant was very helpful explained every thing carefully and followed up as promised. the only problem I could find was the seating in the waiting area which could have been more supportive considering the type of patients.

Having been unimpressed by the ('give it a go, if you insist' )attitude of one of his colleagues, I saw Mr Arzoglou who was a breath of fresh air speaking about my 'failed' back', on which I had previous surgery, 25 years previously. His positive attitude and ability to explain his procedures in non technical language was ideal. He was confident he could decompress some of the nerves which were leaving me increasingly immobile and in great pain. Although to get from consultation to operation took an agonising 18 months, 12 of which were unnecessary, after too many warnings of the possibility of all outcomes up to and including death, the operation was done at the Thornbury hospital at Sheffield. The relief from nerve pain when I came round was instantaneous. It's 3 months on now, and I can stand up straight and walk again! I could do that in fact, after only 2 days, but all of my post operative pain has now gone too.The recovery period has been good and I have managed all of the physiotherapy. My back will never be as it was when I was younger due to damage and arthritis, but Mr Arzoglou has made the best of a bad job on me, that's for sure.

Mr Arzoglou fully explained the procedure and gave me a choice of options. I was in considerable pain and pretty immobile with spondylosisthesis. Following the ALIF my pain has dropped considerably and I can walk for miles. The result could have not been better.
