From the minute I first Mr Patel on Christmas Eve 2019 I felt I was in very compitent and confident hands. His manner was first class and very reassuring at this stressful time, he explained every stage of the diagnosis and procedure in very understandabe terms. On the day of the operation he took great care to go over everything again whilst completing the obligatory paperwork. Immediately after the procedure he even rang my wife to inform that it had gone well and put her completely at ease. He visited the ward with his colleagues on a couple of occasions after the operation and explained the positives and the challenges of my procedure. We even agreed there and then the date of the follow up meeting. We live in an area where it is vogue to say that people insisted on a specific surgeon to carry out a procedure, I have to say that as a result of my experience I would have no hesitation in reccomending Mr Patel and the NHS to everyone in a similar postion. Finally we have been paying huge sums each year for private medical care, I can assure anyone reading this that they could not get better treatment than that which I have received over the last few weeks with the NHS.

My keyhole surgery to remove a tumour on the intestine was amazing. I was expecting a lot more pain and discomfort. 10 days after the op I stopped needing any painkillers, was eating well, sleeping well and walking the dog every day. Mr Patel was very helpful in explaining things before and after the op. The hospital staff (Watford) were all good too. My thanks to all of them.

Mr Patel explained all aspects of my treatment very clearly and what would be involved with the procedure. I felt reassured and fully aware of what the next steps would be at what was an anxious time for me.
