2nd August 2023

Mr Winterton has absolutely changed my life! I began researching surgeons for an abdominoplasty and breast uplift approximately eighteen months ago. Due to the nature of my work, I felt it particularly important to ensure I had done my due diligence when choosing a surgeon. Mr Winterton's name was a name that I kept seeing, so I dug a little further and subsequently arranged an appointment through his fabulous Practice Manager, Vicki. From my initial consultation with Mr Winterton, I knew that he was the surgeon for me. He was honest, thorough, kind, and took his time to explain the options available to me. We discussed things at length and he never made me feel that any of my questions were not appropriate. He quickly understood my increased anxiety due to the nature of my work and he explained the risks of the procedures in a logical manner. I immediately knew that I could trust him. A short while later, I decided to go ahead with the two procedures and secured my surgery date - 9 February 2023. I had a second consultation with Mr Winterton prior to my surgery, which my husband attended also. Again, Mr Winterton took time to talk things through with us both, setting realistic expectations and ensuring that I was fully informed before the surgery date. I had my surgery at the Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle and I cannot fault the team. From the moment I arrived I was treated with care and compassion. Mr Winterton's anaesthetist "Patch" was incredible. Again, he acknowledged that in my work, I see the worst things that can happen to patients. I have an increased awareness of the risks of surgery and he took his time to explain the risks to me. He reassured me that he would be with me throughout the procedure and explained what he would be looking out for to make sure I was okay. Patch was again honest and his humour really calmed me down! I didn't catch the name of the male nurse who I believe was Patch's assistant on the day. He was incredible and an absolute asset to the team. When he came to collect me from my room to take me to theatre, I was hesitant and scared. He supported me so well and really reassured me, right until the moment I was anaesthetised. Post operation I was visited by Mr Winterton and Patch who took their time to explain how the surgery had gone and how I should expect to feel over the coming days/weeks. I had some slight issues with my blood pressure post-operation which were managed really well by the team. I did not feel that I was rushed to be discharged. Post-discharge, Mr Winterton and his nurse Alison were incredibly supportive. There was one area of my incision on my stomach that took longer to heal than the rest (not uncommon). They encouraged me to communicate with them, never made me feel like I was harassing them and supported me to get the wound to close - it did! Top tip - trust the process and Mr Winterton/Alison's advice! I have today had my 6 month post-operative check up and to say I am delighted with my results is an understatement. I honestly feel like a new person and that is all down to Mr Winterton's work. I am sure most people who are considering surgery question whether they are being selfish in putting themselves through procedures that do have risks. However, the risks are small, and I can wholeheartedly say that I would go through it all again without hesitation. Mr Winterton has given me back confidence that I lost after having children. There was a time that I didn't feel comfortable in my own skin (due to the excess of it!) and now I love showing my new body off! I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Winterton. "Thank you" hardly seems enough!

For many years I have wanted a breast reduction. I was certain it was something that would make a huge difference to my confidence and how I felt about my body as well as my health; I was in almost constant back and neck pain. Rob was recommended to me by a friend, he was already on my shortlist, so the recommendation helped me decide to make an appointment for a consultation. From that first meeting I felt confident that I could trust him with my surgery. Throughout further consultations, surgery and post operative aftercare, I received first class care from Rob and the whole team at The Alexandra Hospital. This was my first surgery, other than two caesareans so I didn’t know what to expect and had many pre operative questions as well as a few post operative wobbles with my healing. Rob’s patience, understanding and care with me went beyond my expectations. I can’t recommend him highly enough and I am over the moon with my results so far. The surgery has changed my life and like many will have said before me; “I wish I had done it sooner”

From start to finish Rob has been amazing, very honest about what could be achieved (although I am astounded by my results) . After a10 stone weight loss I had lots of loose skin; Rob recommended an FDL, also needed a hernia repair as well as branchioplasty. I cannot be happier with my results - thank you to Rob and his whole team you truely have changed my life, something I will be forever grateful for - I cannot recommend Rob highly enough

From first consultation with Rob I was made to feel at ease. He is extremely personably and I was comfortably able to ask lots of questions. I had an fdl and branchioplasty after excess loose skin following a 10 stone weight loss. Rob was very honest and clear about the outcomes and managed my expectations. The aftercare is superb, and Riv was extremely responsive to any concerns I had pre and post surgery. I am absolutely thrilled with the results and cannot recommend Rob and his team highly enough. - thank you

I had my first consultation with Rob in April 2022 from my very first time meeting him he was down to earth honest and approachable. He was very thorough and explained all my options as well as the risks, and what to expect in recovery. Rob he wasn’t pushy and was happy for me to go away and think about what, If any option(s) I wanted to do. A few days later his Practice Manage Vicki called to discuss prices of the options, Vicki explained that if I knew what procedure I wanted and had a date in mind she could hold the date for me. I decided on which procedures I wanted and pre booked my date and second consultation. I had my second consultation in September 2022, Rob went over the risks, recovery and expected results my chosen procedures (Abdominoplasty and Mastopexy). Prior to surgery I had a conversation with a pharmacy nurse who went over any medication I take, and Ward Nurse to go over admission time and what to expect on the day and what items to bring with you. Before surgery I had an EKG and blood pressure and blood test. I had Surgery in December 2022 on the day of the procedure I was admitted at 7am, I was shown to my room and that the day nurse came in to take my height and weight so the Anaesthesiologist could work out the dosage of anaesthesia I would need. I met the Anaesthesiologist who ask some question about my current health and any other procedures I had had in the past. Then Rob came in to confirm the procedure and complete the forms and he explained that I was the 2nd patient on the list, I went down for surgery around 10:30 and next think I remember I was on back in my room, I had no pain while I was in the hospital, I did feel quite sick after (this is normal for me after any anaesthesia) I was discharged around 1pm the following day. I had my first post op appointment 5 days later where all my dressings were removed, and I was provided with my compression garment. I had a slight wound healing issue with one of my incisions in between Christmas and New Year I was seen the same day at The Alex and the wound nurse was lovely and re dresses that wound, and I left the dressing on for a week and then removed it a home and it had scabbed over nicely. I was driving after 4 weeks (was told a I was free to drive after 2 weeks) I had my second following at 6 weeks where my incisions were checked, and I was given the all clear to return to horse riding. I had my 6-month check-up last week and was signed off. I’m happy with my results and my expectations were handle amazingly. I would recommend Rob Winterton to everybody especially if you are looking for someone who is honest down to earth who is just a phone call or email away he is your Surgeon.
