I had my first consultation with Rob in April 2022 from my very first time meeting him he was down to earth honest and approachable. He was very thorough and explained all my options as well as the risks, and what to expect in recovery. Rob he wasn’t pushy and was happy for me to go away and think about what, If any option(s) I wanted to do. A few days later his Practice Manage Vicki called to discuss prices of the options, Vicki explained that if I knew what procedure I wanted and had a date in mind she could hold the date for me. I decided on which procedures I wanted and pre booked my date and second consultation. I had my second consultation in September 2022, Rob went over the risks, recovery and expected results my chosen procedures (Abdominoplasty and Mastopexy). Prior to surgery I had a conversation with a pharmacy nurse who went over any medication I take, and Ward Nurse to go over admission time and what to expect on the day and what items to bring with you. Before surgery I had an EKG and blood pressure and blood test. I had Surgery in December 2022 on the day of the procedure I was admitted at 7am, I was shown to my room and that the day nurse came in to take my height and weight so the Anaesthesiologist could work out the dosage of anaesthesia I would need. I met the Anaesthesiologist who ask some question about my current health and any other procedures I had had in the past. Then Rob came in to confirm the procedure and complete the forms and he explained that I was the 2nd patient on the list, I went down for surgery around 10:30 and next think I remember I was on back in my room, I had no pain while I was in the hospital, I did feel quite sick after (this is normal for me after any anaesthesia) I was discharged around 1pm the following day. I had my first post op appointment 5 days later where all my dressings were removed, and I was provided with my compression garment. I had a slight wound healing issue with one of my incisions in between Christmas and New Year I was seen the same day at The Alex and the wound nurse was lovely and re dresses that wound, and I left the dressing on for a week and then removed it a home and it had scabbed over nicely. I was driving after 4 weeks (was told a I was free to drive after 2 weeks) I had my second following at 6 weeks where my incisions were checked, and I was given the all clear to return to horse riding. I had my 6-month check-up last week and was signed off. I’m happy with my results and my expectations were handle amazingly. I would recommend Rob Winterton to everybody especially if you are looking for someone who is honest down to earth who is just a phone call or email away he is your Surgeon.
