Absolutely fantastic care from beginning to end. I have complete faith in this man and couldn’t recommend Mr Shar highly enough.
I have had a hip replacement together with a muscle complication which Mr Shar has corrected, and though I’m only 8 weeks post op I have made amazing progress in such a short time.
Mr Shar is one of the sweetest surgeons and always so kind & patient and of course brilliant at his job!
So if you are having any doubts, don’t as he has been absolutely fantastic and will give you the best treatment he can give.

When I had my first Consurltation with Mr Shah about my knee he treated my as a person not just a number on a list, he explained to me what the problem with my knee was and what was needed to be done. I was in so much pain with my knee I could not do any of the things that I used to do I was using crutches to get around, after about 18 months ( delayed by covid-19 ) I had my operation to replace my left knee on the 5th February 2121, 4 days in Goring Hall Hospital, I could not have had any better treatment by the Nurses the Physio and other staff. I an now able to get around better without crutches I'm walking almost as normal and I can walk up and down stairs as good if not than before there is no pain in my knee any more.

My first meeting with Mr Shah was very reassuring, he took the time to explain the procedure involved in my hip replacement; and what I should expect and prepare for after the operation. A very kind and experienced surgeon, I left without any worries about my forthcoming operation.
The care and kindness I received from Mr Shah and his team, the nurses and physiotherapists, during my stay and subsequent appointments was second to none.
Thank you to you all, the future looks bright.

Mr Shah did a full hip replacement for me. I was terribly nervous about the whole thing but not only is he an exceptional surgeon, he has the most lovely, kind and professional way about him, he quickly puts your mind at rest.
The surgery went well and I’m feeling very optimistic for the future. I do feel that I was looked after by the best of the best and would highly recommend Mr Shah and his team.

I have had 2 total hip replacements at Goring Hall both carried out by Mr Nirav Shah.
The operations went well and I received excellent care from Mr Shah and his team.
I am happy with my new hips and am looking forward to returning to a much more active life.
Mr Shah is an excellent surgeon and very caring of his patients.

Mr Nirav Shah is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at the University Hospital Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.
He trained at some of the country’s leading teaching institutes in the South East of London before undertaking two fellowships for arthroplasty and revision surgery.
Since qualifying in 1993, Mr Shah has gained a wealth of experience in the field of orthopaedics, helping him to provide his patients with the highest levels of care and expertise.
In 20210, he completed an arthroplasty and revision fellowship organised by the Furlong Foundation, followed by a fellowship in complex trauma in Hannover, Germany.
Mr Shah specialises in conditions affecting the hip and knee. He has carried out more than 10,000 operations and is highly experienced in complex hip and knee replacement surgery, including hip and knee revisions. He has a particular interest in hip and knee arthroscopy for hip impingement and early arthritis.
Mr Shah has lectured nationally and internationally on orthopaedics and is actively involved in research within the field. He has authored numerous books and regularly has papers published in peer-review journals such as the prestigious Bone and Joint Journal (BJJ). He is also a reviewer for the BJJ.
Mr Shah has taught and examined at several prominent medical schools, including Guy’s King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School and Brighton and Sussex Medical School. He was also an honorary senior lecturer at the University College London (UCL).
Mr Shah is currently a faculty member at The Furlong Foundation and the Royal College of Surgeons of England and an examiner for the FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics) national and international examinations.
