I have just had a hip replacement performed by Mr Faisal and his team at the Nuffield Hospital in Leamington Spa. The whole experience, from being diagnosed by Mr Faisal and being told (much to my suprise) that at 56 years of age and 40+ years of playing football that i need a new hip, to the follow up consultation and physio etc at the Nuffield, has been fantastic ! At the first meeting Mr Faisal put my mind at rest and went through the process with me. On the day of the operation, he came in to see me an hour prior to the procedure and we exchanged a little light hearted banter, which calmed my nerves a lot. After the operation, I was up on my feet the next morning (with the help of a frame or crutches) and able to take myself to the bathroom. On the 2nd day I was allowed home after passing the "walk up and down the stairs" challenge. 3 weeks on, I have had my follow up meeting with Mr Faisal, who once again was extremely informative and reassuring. I'm walking around the house and short distances without pain or crutches and started again driving yesterday. Big thanks to Mr Faisal, he's done a first class job on me and I would recommend him to anyone (with a bad hip).

I found Mr Faisal very approachable easy to talk to and felt he listened to my concerns as this was my first ever major operation. He explained everything in detail and checked I had understood and I never felt rushed in appointments. Both prior to, during and after the procedure nothing was too much trouble, BMI staff also very reassuring with good sense of humour. I have had a total left knee replacement within three days I could walk easily with no support and best of all no pain at all. Have had odd days with pain/ stiffness but easily resolved with ice pack and over the counter pain killers this I am sure is due to the expertise of Mr Faisal and his team. I had an epidural as recommended by the anaesthesiologist with a nerve block for my leg which I would recommend, nerves greatly helped by music played during the operation and reassurance from staff. Physio service excellent have to push yourself a little as you fear you will somehow damage your new knee. I followed instructions and exercises and gained strength and mobility quickly which will get better and better with time. Fantastic service from start to finish would not hesitate to recommend Mr Faisal’s expertise and skill to others should they need it. Thank you

I was up and walking with one crutch just three days after the operation! The pain is much less than I expected, and my life will be back to normal very soon. I can't praise Mr Faisal's skill highly enough!

Earlier this year I started to have trouble with my hip. I saw Mr. Faisal at his clinic in June, on a friend's recommendation. Following an x-ray, Mr. Faisal diagnosed my right hip as acute. We discussed the options and he advised that the Superpath Hip Replacement surgery was the best option for me. We arranged a mutually convenient date on July 31st for the operation, which involved a 2 night stay in hospital. I was up and walking on day 2. There was minimal pain from the start and I have had uninterrupted progress. By week 3 I was moving around on one crutch, and then progressed to sticks. Progress continued and I saw Mr. Faisal again in week 5 when he advised that I can return to using the leg as normally as possible, and moving away from sticks etc. as I feel comfortable to do so. I am now in week 6 and undertaking walks of half a mile. I found Mr. Faisal to be very pleasant and very clear in his advice. I have every confidence in his ability and would highly recommend both Mr. Faisal and the Superpath hip replacement procedure to others.

He completed his UK training in the West Midlands, Sheffield and Warwick. He also did a one year fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty in the UK and supplemented this with fellowships at world renowned lower limb reconstruction units at Mayo Clinic, USA and at Vancouver General Hospital, Canada.

Mr Faisal has extensive experience in primary and revision hip and knee replacement especially minimally invasive hip replacement, ceramic on ceramic and uncemented hip replacements.

A SUPERPATH Hip replacement technique is designed to precisely reconstruct the hip without cutting muscles and tendons or stretching muscles that are important for hip function.

Mr Faisal also offers customised total knee replacement surgery using patient specific instruments to streamline total knee replacement surgery according to patients anatomy. The Zimmer Patient Specific Instruments Planner is the next generation in surgical planning. The surgeon can preoperatively view the patient’s anatomy in its purest geometrical form to develop a customised surgical plan for each patient.
