In October 2018, I underwent temporomandibular joint replacements and facial reconstruction caused by a chronic condition that had destroyed my existing joints. I was introduced to Mr Heliotis at the start of my treatment who spoke to me frankly about my options and the implications of any decisions I made. He told me both the advantages and disadvantages of each choice and spoke to me in a language I understood. He gave me the time I needed to consider my options and decide how far I wanted to go to correct my symptoms. Mr Heliotis was professional and patient with further explanation and together with the orthodontic team spent time preparing me for the surgery and ensuring I had the best post operative result. My surgery took approximately nine hours and I was holistically helped in the lead up to the operation with Mr Heliotis and his team visiting every day while an inpatient to supervise my care. With the encouragement of the doctors I was able to return home four days later closely monitored in clinic. I would never say that major surgery is undertaken lightly because there can be complications and while you hope for the best sometimes you have to accept that might not be possible. During this process I feel I have been well informed and received exceptional care. Mr Heliotis has been honest and given me the chance to eat solid food again. There have been times when we have laughed and some when we have not but I have always felt completely safe in his very able and talented hands. Doctor Heliotis is a brilliant professional with a vast expertise which was evident in the treatment that I received. I have a somewhat lengthier treatment plan due to a severe dental infection, and I appreciated that Doctor Heliotis has done a thorough analysis of my case, making sure I have a feasible end to end treatment plan that covers all aspects. I was extremely satisfied with the procedure I underwent and with the outcome. His manner was reassuring, making me feel at ease at all times, for which I am very grateful. I highly recommend him!

I met Mr Heliotis about three years ago. I had severe sleep apnea and was extremely unhappy with the shape of my chin. At the time I was at a low ebb. The first time I met Mr Heliotis I felt completely at ease. Throughout my treatment Mr Heliotis was understanding, caring, professional efficient and helpful. In November he performed a complex facial operation and I am extremely delighted with the results plus my confidence has grown day by day. I could not have asked for a better consultant. Mr Heliotis has changed my life and I will now be able to travel without my CAP machine which is a huge deal to me. I cannot recommend Mr Heliotis highly enough and think he is awesome!

I underwent two operations at Northwick Park hospital in Harrow to correct the defect that caused my face to become skewed from a bicycle accident that I had at the age of 6. This left me with a protruding jaw, I was unable to bite properly, and suffered from tension headaches. I also suffered anxiety and was depressed about the way I looked. I underwent the first 90-minute operation in 2015. A second three-and-a-half-hour operation, which involved breaking and resetting my upper and lower jaw, was carried out in October 2016. I was told that my procedure was amongst the most complex 10 per cent that Dr heliotis had ever operated on. Words will never be able to express my thanks and gratitude for all that Dr Heliotis has done for me. After 20 years, I see myself in the mirror with no tears streaming down my face.It definitely changed my life! He is the God of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the UK and whoever is in need of any maxillofacial surgery Dr Heliotis is the Dr to trust. I cam to Manolis absolutely embarrassed and ashamed of my smile. Within 5 minutes of meeting I felt as ease, and I knew I had the right surgeon. The road to completed surgery was not simple, there were deviations, we challenged each other about the correct procedure. At all times I knew his concern was my best interest and achieving the best result. Him and the people he chooses to work with are all of the highest level, you get that impression when you meet him, and it follows through the whole way. Honestly, I couldn't say enough good things about this guy. He's literally changed my life. If you're considering seeing this specialist I highly recommend you go to him for a consultation. The cost is high, but not extortionate. The level of care is outstanding.
