I highly recommend Mr Kumar Kunasingam, Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon who performed keyhole surgery in day care, to remove a severe bunion from my right foot. The surgery was a great success. I’m now free of pain and deformity after many years of suffering. The small scars that continue to fade are now hardly noticeable and I can’t wait to wear pretty sandals on holiday. The procedure meant a day in West Valley Hospital, Croydon, easier to get to than I first thought, easily accessed by road and rail with car parking and amazing reception staff to guide you to the hospital on the 9th Floor. I walked out from the hospital late afternoon using the crutches provided and by 6.30 pm I was back home and able to go out and have dinner at my local restaurant. The after care instructions were clear and easy to follow and within days I was walking with only one crutch and in a few weeks none. From my first appointment for assessment through to surgery and post-op appointments, staff engagement with me was exceptional. Clinic reception were supportive to my family calling for updates and the brilliant nursing and clinical team took great care to ensure me and the small group of fellow patients were comfortable and well looked after.

I felt a little apprehensive before my bunion surgery, as I have heard many stories about slow recovery and post op pain, discomfort etc. Dr Kumar Kunasingham made me feel at ease from the word go. He listened to what I had to say and explained everything to me in great detail. I can honestly say I had very little pain after the op, he has done such a fantastic job that I love showing my "new" foot to all my family and friends. In fact I have already booked to have my other foot done. I have already recommended this doctor and infact this clinic to friends and family and I will carry on doing so. DR Kumar, you are a miracle worker and I can't thank you enough for the great job you have done.!

I saw Mr Kumar Kunasingam at Croydon university hospital last year and he explained the procedure he would be using to operate on my foot and toes. He was using minimally invasive keyhole surgery. The care I had from both Mr Kunasingam and his team was excellent and led to a full recovery and a ‘normal’ looking left foot! I am now awaiting an appointment for surgery to my right foot and look forward to an equally successful conclusion. Thanks.

So, I am at the start of my journey. I have 2 bunions, one particularly painful and leading a very active and hectic life, being immobilised for 6 weeks post op is not for me. I live in Leicester and work in London and found Mr Kunasingham by doing extensive research on the internet. I am not the easiest person to please but having had my initial consultation and pre op today, I am confident that, not only will Mr Kunasingham do a top quality job keyhole bunion procedure but more importantly I will be able to maintain my hectic lifestyle with hardly a hiccup. The staff at the West Valley Hospital are professional, competent, friendly and welcoming. I have yet to set a date for my surgery but i am almost looking forward to it...
