When I first met Dr.Parkar, he was reluctant to do the operation due to my age mainly. Dr.Parkar listened to my concerns and noted I had self paid for all x-rays and mri’s and was doing everything possible to alleviate the pain I was in. By having my scans already completed this enabled my operation to go ahead. I had the operation booked in and six months later was in hospital. Two hour operation and home within three days, with a lovely scar and district nurses in place. Two reviews over 18 months and I have just been signed off. 18 months ago I couldn’t even pull a sock on, and now I’m back in the gym and living life how I should be. Role on the next operation in 25 years.

Mr Parker is a charming man. He listened to my story and how important is was to me to have my total knee replacement, although I'm classed as being too young (53),for me to have some kind of quality back in my life. He was clear at explaining I may have to have it redone in 15-20 yrs time. From seeing him to having the op was 4 weeks. After every consultation he records the plan, so you can hear what he says in his report. After the successful operation, he came to see me in the recovery room, to explain everything went as planned. He also came the next day to see how I was feeling. He made me feel like I was important and although he is a busy man, no one else mattered but me. I'm actually looking forward to him doing my other knee!
