I am a new patient, I was welcomed and the Dr made sure that introductions were done properly. Dr Al-Shakarchi had to work quickly to take a thorough history, reach a diagnosis, examine me and arrange medicines and further tests. I felt that I was listened to, the dr tracked my story very effectively in her notes and I felt that she had captured everything I wanted to raise. I am relieved that I was able to leave the consulting room with a proper diagnosis, a plan of action and all the medicines could be collected from the hospital pharmacy to start immediately. (I had been anxious about managing over the long Easter weekend.) I was given very good information about each of the medicines prescribed, the side effects and how to take them. A friend came to take notes and help prompt my questions. Afterwards we were able to write everything up so that I have helpful notes to support me as I go forward. I understand that the scheduled clinics are already full up to October but my consultant has assured me that arrangements will be made for the follow up appointment that I need by ensuring that cancellations are re-allocated to patients. I am grateful for this . Thank you very much Dr Al-Shakarchi and Kingston Hospital.

Approachable and understanding, listened to what I had to say and gave me the time to express myself without making me feel I was wasting her time. The questions she asked helped me to explain my symptoms but also gave me confidence in her understanding of my condition.I had prepared a list of questions regarding the health issues I had and she answered them all in terminology I understood .She also discussed the treatment with me and reassuringly said if I experienced problems before my next appointment I could contact her at the Hospital. I came away feeling the consultation went really well and would highly recommend her to family and friends. Her knowledge and people skills were excellent

I have now seen Dr Al-Shakarchi on 2 occasions and found her to be helpful, patient and thorough. She took time to explain my symptoms and likely cause, also referring me for appropriate follow - up treatment. Throughout our consultation she was extremely pleasant and I left with a thoroughly good impression of her as a professional and caring Dr. More of her in the NHS please.
