I had no fears before my operation about the anaesthesia having experienced it on three previous occasions but, even so, Dr David Uncles manner and explanations was very reassuring and helpful. Certainly I did not experience any problems or discomforts just prior to or after the operation. If I had to undergo another operation in the future, regardless of its nature, I would be pleased and happy if he was in attendance.

Prior to the surgery, Mr Uncles visited me in my room to introduce himself and to explain the procedure and answer any concerns. He also checked up on me the morning after the operation to see if all was OK. He appeared relaxed and caring.
I was quite anxious about having a spinal block for my hip replacement surgery. I voiced my concerns to Mr Uncles who reassured me that it would not be painful. I had sedation along side the spinal block and I have no recollection of having the needle inserted or any pain. This has totally reassured me and I will be more than happy to have such a procedure again.

Dr Uncles paid heed of my concerns at the pre operative visit and all were effectively addressed. He delivered exceptional care in a highly professional manner and was kind and reassuring throughout the process. I felt completely safe and made a very quick recovery from the anaesthetic.

I am a specialist Anaesthetist with interests in Obstetric, Ambulatory and Inpatient anaesthesia. I employ a variety of anaesthetic techniques including general or regional anaesthesia, although I often use them in combination to optimise and enhance patients' peri and post-operative experience.
I am dedicated to putting the patient first through the provision of safe and reassuring care delivered in conjunction with my colleagues and associates.
I was present at the inauguration of the Helsinki Declaration in June 2010. This enshrines the values essential to the promotion of the highest professional and safety standards expected of anaesthetists. It is my hope to match or even exceed the expectations of patients who place their trust in me.
