Dr Uncles introduced himself to me at my bedside and spoke to me about the anaesthetic for my procedure. His manner was very professional and reassuring. In the operating theatre, he and his assistant calmly explained what they were about to do and how I would feel. He said I would be asleep for about 40 minutes and the next thing I knew I was in the recovery room with a nurse looking after me. I felt fine - no nausea or shaking.

Our first baby’s birth was tough and traumatic, where I had felt completely out of control and anxious. We were offered an elective caesarian for our second child - and wow…what a difference this experience has been! Dr. David Uncles was anesthetist for the procedure. David has a natural ability to put someone at ease with his kind, caring, gentle and professional manner. He took lots of time to make sure I felt comfortable and happy before, during and after the caesarian- explaining what was happening every step of the way.
As I reflect on the delivery of our second child, a beautiful and content baby girl, I feel so very lucky to have been under Dr. David Uncles’ care. Our daughter’s entrance to the world was so calm and beautiful…a wonderful start to her life. In my eyes David is mainly to thank for this. We are forever thankful to him, what a talented and wonderful man.

Dr Uncles has a friendly, helpful bedside manner. He explained all aspects of the precedures that he was using, which I found very reassuring. Although my blood pressure readings may not have indicated it, (!) I felt very confident about going into theatre in his care.
I came round in the recovery room feeling sleepy but with no nausea such as I had experienced with previous operations.
I would willingly put myself under his wonderful care again if necessary! Thank you, Dr Uncles!

Dr Uncles' calm and reassuring approach during both the pre-op consultation and my c-section really helped to put my mind at ease, I could not have asked for better care from him and all the staff at Worthing hospital. During both the anaesthetic being administered and the operation itself I felt I was in very capable hands, thank you so much!

I am a specialist Anaesthetist with interests in Obstetric, Ambulatory and Inpatient anaesthesia. I employ a variety of anaesthetic techniques including general or regional anaesthesia, although I often use them in combination to optimise and enhance patients' peri and post-operative experience.
I am dedicated to putting the patient first through the provision of safe and reassuring care delivered in conjunction with my colleagues and associates.
I was present at the inauguration of the Helsinki Declaration in June 2010. This enshrines the values essential to the promotion of the highest professional and safety standards expected of anaesthetists. It is my hope to match or even exceed the expectations of patients who place their trust in me.
